If you've taken any basic history or politics classes in your life, you're probably familiar with the basic types of authority: rational-legal, tradition, and charismatic. Being a massively famous party DJ is 50% musical selection and production, but it's also 50% a test of character. If you can take over the club as a charismatic authority -- and evoke the kind of response that leads thousands of minions to wear your face on their chests day after day, wondering whether you drew part of your charm from some unknown EDM god -- then you're halfway there on the road to [...]

Last time we posted a track by Stockholm's Marcus Prime , Nervo picked it up, tweeting: "AH! Check out this remix of our song IRRESISTIBLE !! Thank you Marcus Prime!! Keep up the amazing work!! There's so much talent out there!!" Tiesto even gave his support saying: “I like the track, well produced, sounds good!” The rework We're All No One pushes a great uplifting chord progression into a euphoric bass drop, a side of the track we didn't know existed until this. If you heard this live, it would absolutely make [...]

Isn't this the raddest gif ever? (Say yes!) It will go perfectly with these tracks. Seriously, play them while you look at this gif and go into a dance craze! I love when producers team up to make huge new anthems, well LA based Steve Aoki teams up with Dutch international legend Tiesto. They outcome is huge, massive, like a Tornado, fitting as that's the title of the track. It's incredibly well done, as you'd expect with a track with two of the biggest names in elctronic music on the same track. It's got a great melody and buildup, then gets out of control like every track with Aoki's name on it.This is just preview to tide you over until the release comes out! It's got sound like I really [...]

I recently started using Nexus and for those of you not familiar with it it's a Studio program like FL Studio. Anyways I found out quickly how big of a Nexus Preset whore (excuse my language) Avicii is, not that I think he lacks talent (or like I could do any better) but it definitely dims down his hype. Really you can put together his highly acclaimed anthem pretty quickly once you file through the Nexus presets and extensions and what do you know you got the basics of Levels. I still like his music but I can agree with [...]

Today I've got a sick collaboration between electronic star Steve Aoki and Weezer's lead singer Rivers Cuomo. The single just got released recently, with the music video below. We've seen a bunch of hip hop and electronic collaborations, so it's cool seeing Rock get thrown into the ever growin electronic world. The song on it's own is pretty sick, and will probably make it's way to most clubs and house parties. Well if the original wasn't epic enough, now we get to hear Dillon Francis' Moombahton remix of the track. He's the guy who brought you the anthem I.D.G.A.F.O.S. [...]
Australian born twins Mim and Liv aren't just a pair of pretty faces. They also happen to be triple-double threat talents (the double because they're twins, obviously. It made sense to me). They started off as models (which explains their killer fashion) before dipping their toes into the songwriting pool where they've worked with everyone from Ke$ha to the Pussycat Dolls and, most notably, David Guetta/Kelly Rowland's "When Love Takes Over." Now they're doing their own thing - writing, producing and performing. Right now they're finishing up their EP and have just come off the Identity Fest tour supporting some of [...]

You all remember Mr. Dim Mak? That's right I'm talking about the Mr. Aoki. The one guy that's been in the scene for longer than I can remember producing electro house music. Am I starting to ring some bells here? (I certainly hope so.) If your in London next Friday you are defiantly going to want to catch Steve Aoki playing at London Music Hall . This show is certainly going to leave a lasting imprint on the club scene... Think you can handle the Warp? [...]

As the genre we cover crosses into more of a mainstream vibe (or we cross into the mainstream) I wanted to highlight some of the top club tracks to fall my way over the past couple of weeks. Love them or hate them, they'll keep the party going. Afrojack, Alesso, Alex Kenji, Alexandra Stan, Avicii, Aguilera, Dimitri Vegas, Dino, Laidback Luke, Like Mike, Lil Jon, Mark Knight, Maroon 5, Nadia Ali, NERVO, Starkillers, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, and Yolanda Selini. They are all here in some form or another. Hopefully this helps build some playlists. [...]

It's time for a new release from two heavy producers/DJS Afrojack and Steve Aoki. Dutch House Producer Afrojack has teamed up with the heavy charismatic Steve Aoki to produce probably one of the hottest tracks of the summer. "No Beef" released by Wall Recordings on August 8, 2011 the song has triumphed once more in making me get up my seat and go crazy, hands flailing, screaming on the top of my lungs. This is definitely a club banger for the summer, with its bouncy, upbeat tempo and headbanging bass that will make you neck hurt. Put your [...]

A typically cracking mix from Elite Force on a live appearance for Rough Tempo Radio where he crams together an eclectic mix of Tech House, Moombahton, Breakbeats and Electro. The mix has original tracks as well as remixes from some ... Continue reading

Stop. Its the mutha mutha remix. Steve Aoki & Laidback Luke feat. Lil Jon - Turbulence (Trick Folexxx Remix) by Trick Folexxx

The sound that Moombahton artist Dillon Francis makes is truly amazing. With the support of Steve Aoki, Diplo, Will I. Am, Drop The Lime, Sinden, and Tittsworth he is sure to have nothing short of a bright future. Most Moombahtoon is slower but Dillon Francis's style is more upbeat and gets the party started much quicker. Be sure to cop his EP Westide! with all the monster tracks. He demonstrates his versatility with Beautician and Take Me [...]
I get quite annoyed sometimes how certain musicians pass me by. When I finally come across them I hear the releases which have been out for a while only to find myself being totally in awe but months out of date. Initially it was the look of The Bloody Beetroots that caught my eye rather than the impressive eclectic sounds of firey synths, punk-esque guitar riffs and grimey, Continue.. I know I posted this track a long ass time ago, and this song has been rinsed again and again in Los Angeles clubs but I have to share two of my favorite remixes of this amazing song. Kid Cudi's lyrics on this track nail it right on the head. When it comes to L.A. nightlife Kudi clearly describes the ups and downs of the party life and how we are truly in the pursuit of happiness. This is the anthem... get your damn hands up! Kid Cudi [...]
So, tons of great music came out over the last month as we were studying for finals. In an effort to reward our viewers for sticking around, I have loaded this post with everything worthy of your ear's time. From their latest release Fall Be Kind EP (this is the song that has been getting a lot of buzz because it samples an old Grateful Dead song, "Unbroken Chain"): Animal Collective - What Would I Want? Sky Kid Cudi – Pursuit Of [...]
