Just when you thought you might grow tired of this Charli XCX track, another artist comes along to reinvent and breathe fresh air into it. Both Blood Orange and Odd Future have put out their own renditions and now the latest remix comes from Brooklyn-based St. Lucia . He adds his own flavor, emphasizing its lushness and bounce and glossing it over with real shimmer. The collab is hardly an accident either, as the two just wrapped up a US tour together.

Already an EMPT Nation favorite, Passion Pit' s Constant Conversations has blessed our lives with some great vocals delivered through the "painful" lyrics of the song, or, maybe even the other way around . The original beat has a slow-jam/R&B funk feel that does wonders for it, but on this St. Lucia Remix he brightens up the entire vibe and feel of the song through splashes of electro synths and strings, modified vocals, and a fun grit to it that can be heard within the pianos and intro that instantly make the remix feel grander. Johannesburg-born producer Jean-Philip Grobler, AKA rising star of the blogosphere St. Lucia , has given Passion Pit's latest single 'Constant Conversations' a new lease of life with a sensational remix. While it's not a dramatic change from the original version (which we blogged about here ), the song has more of a 'big' feeling, thanks to Grobler's delicate electro flourishes. Passion Pit recently released their sophomore LP Gossamer to widespread critical acclaim, and one of the better tracks off the LP, 'Constant Conversations', has been remixed by St. Lucia . You can hear the St. Lucia remix of 'Constant Conversations' below and I'd even go as far as to say that it improved the original track. Gossamer is out now.
Passion Pit remixes are like gold. Plentiful, but still treasure. They might not always be the best thing you've ever heard, but then again gold has it's imperfections as well. This nugget from St. Lucia (pun intended) right here is worth the respectable 5000 pokemon dollars. It's noise-pop meets smooth and for the most part pretty basic, but it gets the job done. Passion Pit has always made its own very defined style of playful, hyperactive pop music. On their recent track "Constant Conversations," the band slowed things down a bit by choosing to apply a smoother R&B style, which for them was equal parts different and refreshing. For this remix, St. Lucia continued with that same theme by leaving most of the record's original framework in place. However the synth enhancements do help give it that more lush, airy sound that we've grown accustomed to hearing from South African one-man band.
