When I come across a group that can successfully play live music behind hip-hop rhymes it's something that I can truly appreciate. Any good DJ can get behind a computer and make a beat, and don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great DJs out there who are great at what they do, but when you have a full live band making those back-beats it's a slightly bigger challenge. Meet Rooftop Runners . They are Canadian brothers Benedikt and Tobias Maclsaac and are now based out in Berlin. Their new song, "Streets" taking on the subject of those lonely pavement walks, presumably in the middle in the cold winter. Not much more miserable experiences, than that. Even though the last ever tune from The Streets was the conclusively titled 'Close the Book' - in response to the opening of Original Pirate Material which was 'Turn the Page' - indicating that the last page of that particular saga had been turned, it has now come to light that an actual book, written by Mike Skinner alongside Ben Thompson, is due for release on March 28th. The SKoA camp were more than a little upset when Mike Skinner announced that The Streets' album Computers and Blues was to be his last. Recently though, Mike has been back up to his old antics on Twitter and talking about all kinds of things. One of those things is his Memoirs which are soon to be released. UK rapper Mike Skinner certainly has been productive since ending his famed project The Streets early last year. In addition to providing a movie soundtrack and forming a new band , he's written a book. As Exclaim points out, Skinner wrote The Story of the Streets with author Ben Thompson to chronicle his experiences under the rap moniker.
