The Pacific Northwest Festival we've all been waiting for has just announced a killer lineup! Sasquatch takes place at the Gorge on May 25th - 28th.

The annual Sasquatch festival, definitely a festival that I need to attend in the very near future, announced a killer line up for this year's installment. Recently solo Jack White, along with Beck and Bon Iver, will be headlining the George, WA based three-day event. Also leading the way are Pretty Lights, Tenacious D, The Shins, Girl Talk, St. Vincent, Feist, and Silversun Pickups. But that's not all who you'll get to see at the Gorge Ampitheatre this year. Also performing this year are Metric, Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky, The Head [...]

Well, 2011. You were quite the year! So much so that I’ve only been able to recover enough to think about you a full week into 2012. Crazy, huh? New jobs, lots of change, oodles of shenanigans, and yes, lots of good music. So much so, that I undoubtedly missed vast quantities of things that [...]

This year has been an incredible year for music, both in our homeland and abroad. Here's a list of my personal favourite releases of the last twelve months. There are certain years which can truly be remembered as 'a good year for music'. 2011 has not been a dissapointment, providing us with some memorable debuts, career-saving come-backs and some pretty special break-through albums. I've taken it upon myself to compile a list of the 10 best albums of 2011 according to the writers of Never Enough Notes, unfortunately there's at least 50 albums which should have been mentioned but I'm not technically savvy enough to make a bigger list. We've heard some people say that 2011 was a bad year for music. We want to know what music they were listening to. Us guys (and gals) at DUL thought it was a pretty nice 365 days of tunes and we have the list to prove it. This year, with the formal inclusion of Brendan into the administrative ranks (imagine something similar to a knighting ceremony involving beards), we had to combine our separate, favorite albums into one list. Christ. It was hard, let.me.tell.you. In conclusion, after some vigorous emails and g-chatting, we came up with our Top 12. Why [...]

Welcome to FWBA's best-of 2011. This has been such a meaningful year in music to me that it's tough to represent in one post. I'm going to be honest, this took me quite a long time. I wanted to do this year justice because personally, it was a total dream: living in San Diego working with some of my favorite artists, going to SXSW and Lollapalooza, seeing Dave Bazan in stranger's living rooms, Feist play a hometown show, saw tune-yards electrified show at Soda Bar clocking in as one of my favorite performances, watching Zach Rogue and my boyfriend playing [...]

The next stop on the Gummys express is Your Top 20 Indie Rock Crushes Of 2011; ten females, ten males, one Gosling. Hit the gallery to check out the winners of this award, truly the people's champions when it comes to crushes. Just outside the fray: EMA and Wye Oak's Jenn Wasner for the ladies, Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold, Noah Lennox and Kurt Vile for the fellas. Ok, it's finally time for me to make this list. It seems like I out-waited everyone...because this list is obviously the most important. 2011 was a good year for music - not as good as a phenomenal 2010, but still, pretty damn good, with some stone-cold classics for the ages. I changed this list a couple times cuz some albums were just a little better than others - some albums I liked more than other even though it seems as though they were objectively not-as-good - it was tough. But here's what I've arrived at. This is 10-6, tomorrow or [...]

You should have seen the deliberation room after we finished the lists. Papers scattered across the floor, blood and coffee stains on the carpet, I think at one point Kenny threw his laptop at Stuart (it just barely missed). But it makes sense, because each one of us are so passionate about the music we loved this year. So, check out what music meant most to each of our wonderful writers- Also, be sure to check out our top songs of the year (100-51 / 50-1 ) and top albums of the year [...]

The best albums are much more than a collection of stand out songs. Like anything successful, a great album finds multiple parts coming together as one; accomplishing moods, textures, and developments not possible by any one singular piece. The best albums force you to take a step back, to not only look at each moment but to examine how that moment fits into a larger picture. Perhaps most important, the best albums are constantly evolving begging for repeated listens to show you all of their ins and out. Check out the 50 albums that kept us coming [...]
