#35: The Head and the Heart @ Forecastle [Original Post] I'd heard a song or two by Head and the Heart going into their show at Forecastle, but I'll admit that I was really just seeing them because there wasn't a lot of competition for their time slot at Forecastle. But just like what happens [...]
This marks the end of the first year of running music video blog, Seen Your Video , and there's been an explosion of talent in music videos in 2012. Unlike some years that have been dominated by an elite group of ultra-talented directors, this year saw a much more diverse collection of incredible visual artists and a swarm of new talent taking center stage. Among the up-and-coming directors that impressed me this year are Emily Kai Bock , who's received much acclaim for her aesthetically cutting-edge work and Ninian Doff [...]

Preempting the excitement were huge, new photo murals of Bruce Springsteen , the Black Keys , and other Bonnaroo legends past in the que to enter through the freshly opened main stages. [...]

photo by Brittney Bollay Opening a main stage at a festival can be a daunting task, especially for a band that isn't used to playing festivals. Their energy was high and their musicianship was tight, so by the time they [...]

"We had a simple idea: get two rad musicians we love to sit down and just talk, like [...]

If you asked someone what their favorite record by a female singer in 2011 was, odds are you would have gotten a reply that fit one of two options: 21 by Adele, or Ceremonials by Florence and the Machine. Both topped charts, and the former swept the Grammys, taking home the coveted Album Of The Year award, [...]
