Listen to Summer Camp 's new track "Life" below, from the EP "Always" . Summer Camp are returning with a new EP this summer, their first release since last year's debut album "Welcome To Condale" . New track "Life" is more scathingly electronic than some of its predecessors, which marks a slight change in direction from their bright and sunny debut album, and can be found on "Always" , their new EP released via Moshi Moshi on July 9th/10th. The fantastic duo, Summer Camp are releasing a new digital single, “Losing My Mind” on March 19th, and now you can watch the adorable 80’s flavored video up above. This is a personal favorite off Welcome To Condale, so I’m glad it’s getting the remix, acoustic, and single treatment. I do miss these slug-speed fade in’s and out’s. Summer Camp - “Losing My Mind”

Tweet Summer Camp are a girl and a boy from England. If your band consists of just a chap and a lady you're almost certain to get a record deal these days. It doesn't matter if your only talents are the spoons and hitting wood with spatulas; if you're a chick and a dude you could be the next The XX or Sleigh Bells. You're signed. Summer Camp are notoriously cagey about their identity which is fine by me. Most of [...]
Our blogger friends over at ATG, have organized a a KILLER show at U Street Music Hall tonight (RSVP and get more info HERE) featuring Summer Camp, Gigamesh, and Ghost Death. This video has been floating around for a while now, but it is just infectious enough for me to share. This track [...]
[mp3] Summer Camp: "Better Off Without You" It's been a quick moment since we checked in on our friends from the UK Summer Camp . Last year saw the release of their highly lauded debut album ' Welcome to Condale .' It's always an event when they make it to the states - so if you missed them last night at Mercury Lounge, you can catch them tonight at Glasslands. See you there. Just listening to the song above should be enough to convince you it's worth it.

The UK duo gear up to head back to our side of the pond.
Don’t let this record confuse you. The year is not 1988 and we are not living in a suburb of California. Summer Camp however, a London duo comprised of Elizabeth Sankey and Jeremy Warmsley, would love you to believe otherwise. Their's is a John Hughes universe. Complete with creepy outcasts (‘I Want You’) and prom queen prudes (‘Last American Virgin’), Welcome To Condale is pure pastiche. So why not stick on The Breakfast Club soundtrack and be done with it? Well, this of course overlooks the pair’s songwriting talents. If you can strip back [...]

I hate to say it, but synthpop is getting old, again. I feel like every other self-identifying "indie" band honors that hit-or-miss period of the 1980s with their own entrances into the arena of synth-laden bubble gum pop. Summer Camp is the latest of such acts, though I admit I find them punchier than the other youngsters. Welcome To Condale , Summer Camp's adolescence-reminiscent debut album, features lots of clapping, clips from 1980s teenage camp movies (Weird Science, Say Anything) and spunky female vocals put against almost deafening synthetic roars. Jeremy Warmsley and Elizabeth Sankey channel St. [...]
