Ne’Astra Music is proud to announce the release of Evolution, the new Slum Village album, available at all retailers worldwide on June 25, 2013. Evolution is the long-anticipated release coming on the heels of the critically acclaimed mix tapes “Dirty Slums” and “Dirty Slums 2.” This album features new music from founding member T3 along with Young RJ and Illa J. The first single “Forever” has already been released digitally. The track’s musings on the natural drift of relationships over time delivers a vibe that’s a cut above. The group was founded in the [...]
As Slum Village continues to search for their identity, the group plans on dropping a new album in June called Evolution. With Baatin, Elzhi and J Dilla all out of the group, we are left with T3 and a few other random members. To the best of my knowledge, Young RJ and Illa J are featured on this first single off Evolution, a track that finds all three MCs in their comfort zone. While Slum Vill have certainly cooked up their own signature sound over the years, it would be nice to see them try and break free [...]
The re-tooled line up of Slum Village just keeps on keeping on, don't they? But ten months and change after T3, Illa J and Young RJ continued the SV legacy through a more than decent mix tape, The Dirty Slums , the boys are back at it again. The sequel to Dirty Slums - you guessed it, Dirty Slums 2 - has just dropped today, stitched together by the mighty Mick Boogie and no doubt boasting some jams. [...]
With Mick Boogie on hosting duties, Slum Village release their latest mixtape , Dirty Slums 2 . As fans of the Detroit outfit know full well, T3 is the sole surviving member of the group. Therefore, it's not surprising to hear him lead the way on almost the entirety of this 15-track effort. The late Baatin makes an appearance on opener "The World is Yours" while other features include Black Milk , Guilty Simpson , Fat Ray, and Rapper Big Pooh . Young RJ handles a majority of the beats, which sound damn good, [...]
Veteran hip-hop group Slum Village have released their brand new commercial mixtape, Dirty Slums 2. The Mick Boogie-hosted, 15-track set, which is the Detroit trio's first release since 20102s Villa Manifesto, includes previously-featured records "Decadence" and "Riot." Guest features include Focus..., Guilty Simpson, Joe Scudda and Rapper Big Pooh among others, while YOUNG RJ handles the bulk of the production duties.
"Long Way Down" is the latest track from Slum Village and Mick Boogie's upcoming Dirty Slums 2 mixtape. We've already heard some impressive cuts, including the Guilty Simpson -featured " Decadence ". And even though "Long Way Down" has some lackluster lyrical moments, it gets off to a killer start thanks to Black Milk's fiery guest verse. The beat, which is handled by the also-rapping Young RJ, is pretty great, too. We just wish that All State line didn't exist. [ via ]
As we get closer to the Jan. 29 release date of Slum Village 's Dirty Slums 2 mixtape with Mick Boogie, we can expect a new track every week or so. Like "RIOT", for example. T3 once again leads the way here as he's joined by Rapper Big Pooh, Joe Scudda, and Kam Corvet over some raw production. While we're still a little wary about the Slum Vill name being attached to what is essentially a T3 track with some guests, we're not mad at this cut. Peep the flyer above to catch them live in Detroit on [...]

Slum Village – “Decadence” F. Young RJ & Guilty Simpson
Slum Village and Mick Boogie will release a second Dirty Slums mixtape later this month after dropping a successful first offering last year. And to get things goin', they just released the gully "Decadence", which features T3, Young RJ, and Guilty Simpson talkin' shit over a brawling RJ production. My only issue here is the fact I'm seeing people credit T3 as a featured artist, when dude's pretty much the only surviving member of Slum Village. That leads me to believe that maybe Slum Village is like a figurehead of sorts now [...]
