After appearing on loads of live sets, radio broadcasts, and podcasts, Super8 & Tab 's "L.A." is now getting two official remixes from two major players in the trance game. BT, making his Anjunabeats debut, and Juventa, returning from a three-year hiatus, have taken their remix tactics to the fan favorite from the Anjunabeats Volume 10 . BT takes the classic elements of the original and puts a definitive BT stamp on it, creating a high-energy symphony of white noise, soaring synths, and massive electro riffs. Juventa brings out the big guns and adds a gritty, heart-stopping drop, all [...]

Last night Trey Anastasio's four-show West Coast swing with TAB came to a close at the Fox Theater in Oakland, California. While we wait for a setlist to surface (we can confirm that the band didn't repeat any songs from Friday's sets on Saturday night), we wanted to share a batch of amazing videos from the two shows that were shot by our friend nowiknowyouryder . Welcome to the 49th edition of The Club ! In case you missed it, this week there's been quite some drama going on in the dance music community. Or well, it's more like the dance music community vs. Will.I.Am for taking creative property and repurposing it as his own production. The track he used, coincidentally, is one of the most beloved tracks in dance music, and though it's a few years old, "Rebound" by Arty & Mat Zo is not something to tamper with. One thing we've learned from this experience is that it's quite something to see fans [...]

Phish front man Trey Anastasio and his Trey Anastasio Band ensemble opened a brief four-show swing last night at the Moore Theatre in Seattle. Over the course of two lengthy sets, TAB delivered a mix of songs from each stage of Anastasio's solo career as well as an acoustic romp through Wilson. Before starting Wilson, Anastasio told the crowd it was a thrill to be in Seattle and mentioned that it's a dream of his for fans to chant "Wilson" when Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson [...]

A couple of weeks back Classixx released their absolutely killer disco tune Holding On , the first single off their long awaited debut LP, which is out in May 14th (finally!). Naturally, we've been jamming to it nonstop, and it looks like we'll be doing that even more now with this first-class remix that TABS just put out. They've done an excellent job of keeping the original funk intact, yet still adding their own electro flair to the mix. The result is a more charged-up version of the tune, sure to take you seamlessly from poolside party [...]

For those of you who aren't HUGE fans of all that authentic Christmas music, or maybe it just gets old by the time Christmas actually arrives...this one definitely focuses on the electronic aspect applied. It's the xxMAS Rework by TABS of The xx's original rendition of Last Christmas . The xx's version is just a little bit too "Christmassy" for me. I'm one of those who grows tired of Christmas music early. Sorry, not sorry. Either way this is a refreshing rendition to a Christmas classic. If it doesn't get you [...]

Trey Anastasio @ The National - October 23 Words : David Paul Kleinman I went to hear Phish at Alpine Valley in ‘96 because of a sorority girl who had a certain way of popping her chest in and out during I Didn’t Know. I went to hear Phish at Deer Creek in ‘98 because God told me the band would open with Rhinoceros. I went to hear Medeski Martin & Wood play at the Symphony Center in Chicago in ‘01 because I knew Chris Wood would cause the building to levitate [...]

The latest lineup of Trey Anastasio's TAB ensemble debuted their version of Windora Bug, a song that has been part of the Phish front man's solo repertoire since his very first tour, last night at the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Anastasio engaged bassist Tony Markellis in a bit of a discussion during the reggae tune telling him that "a bumblebee is a bug too" leading the horn section to respond with a taste of Flight of the Bumble-Bee. Eventually Trey asked Tony, "is that your hair or a rug," and then the pair changed the normal Windora [...]

The newest edition of Trey Anastasio's ever-changing solo band made its debut tonight as TAB Fall Tour 2012 got underway at The Fillmore in Detroit. As hinted at yesterday , Big Red did unveil a new guitar, using a Fender Jaguar at points during the show. Trey's latest solo album, Traveler, came out just two days ago and unsurprisingly the setlist was filled with tunes from the LP including the debuts of Corona, Scabbard, Architect and Traveler. Multi-instrumentalist James Casey of Lettuce made his first appearance with the band and the evening also saw the [...]

Please welcome our newest contributor, Robert Janoski , to preview this month's TAB Tour. For the 14th year of his namesake solo group’s existence, Trey Anastasio and his TAB ensemble will embark on a nine-show mini tour starting tomorrow at The Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan. In 2012, the early months that in 2010 and 2011 were reserved for TAB tours were given over to Trey’s symphony outings. These shows revealed nuances to Trey's Phish and solo compositions unique to orchestral settings, and had fans pleasantly surprised. However, most still yearned for the frontman to [...]

I don't remember there ever being a 4th of July happening during the middle of the week. However, for those of you still around this week, like myself, having to come in for one day is a little on the odd side. Much like having two Mondays in the week or two Fridays. We're heading to the most boring time in sports. The interim between the MLB all-star break and a complete wasteland until football training camp. The Denver Broncos camp starts in about three weeks and the time couldn't come any sooner. The Rockies are talking [...]
TABS just put out this remix of Wolfgang Gartner's track "Redline." Here's what they had to say about this remix: "We took this track through a massive restructuring and dropped out our first break into a fat analog, very natural sounding, driving bassline to take us into a huge second build and explosion for our [...]

Fresh off their retrospective release last month, Anjunabeats vets Super8 & Tab indicate they have no intention of becoming a nostalgia act with today's anthemic release 'Black is Back.' While the high-octane Club Mix has already become a fixture in their live sets, the Finnish trance duo also included a Classic Dub Mix and a Classic Vocal Mix, featuring the seasoned vocals of long-time Gabriel & Dresden collaborator Jan Burton alongside the track's signature synth builds and melodic progressions. Enjoy these. Super8 & Tab ft. Jan Burton - [...]

What a tough blow for Bulls' fans. Having your "team" wrapped around one player is devastating. Especially when that one player has an injury that will take him out for the rest of the year. It appears that the NY Knicks are on the verge of getting broomed out of the first round for the billionth time. Turns out the grass isn't so green on the other side, eh, Melo? Unfortunately my Nuggets are facing the same circumstances tonight. It's not all doom and gloom around here. They say that the series isn't over [...]

The Grammys are this Sunday and if memory serves me right, the general sentiment is kind of "blah" compared to previous years. It use to be an honor to perform, but now you have artists declining (Bon Iver) the opportunity. Adele will win > 2 Grammys and the Beach Boys playing with Foster the People smells kind of desperate. Who knows, Katy Perry might actually go home with an award or Skrillex might be selected as Best New Artist? Kaskade // Deadmau5 - Move For Me (TABS Remix) [...]
The 2011 edition of the Bear Creek Music Festival went off without a hitch this weekend in Live Oak, Florida, where a video taping crew called Cheesehead Productions was on hand to film a number of performances all weekend long. For those of us who couldn't attend, these clips are a god send as they allow us to witness some of the magic that happened at Bear Creek. We've compiled eight of our faves that have appeared on CP's YouTube channel so far for your viewing pleasure. Let's start with a clip [...]

The 2011 edition of the Bear Creek Arts & Music Festival kicks off in less than a week at the beautiful Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida with a half-day of performances on Wednesday, November 9, before full slates on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Often referred to as "Jam Cruise on land," there's a reason both performers and attendees leave Live Oak raving about the experience. There's a family atmosphere which has been nurtured by organizers since the event's first year and they intend to keep it that way despite Bear Creek's continued growth. [...]

Photos : Jeremy Smith Funny how often the best things in the world of Phish and the Trey Anastasio Band , affectionately known as TAB, simply go unnoticed. In chatting this past weekend with Hidden Track Editor extraordinaire, Scott Bernstein, about HT's 5th Anniversary and the 1st of Postcards From Page Side, we were both scratching our heads on the lack of TAB coverage from this mini-tour that just wrapped up, making this week's column a no-brainer as to what to cover. I caught one TAB show this tour, on the eve of my 31st Birthday, [...]
