Taco Bell's Feed the Beat promotion has had a stumble or two in the past--such as when famed vegetarian Ted Leo won without even entering. However, giving bands free food on the road is always a great promotion (and, for the record, Taco Bell DOES offer vegetarian options). The announced winners for 2009 are after the jump. Though I'm wondering if "Electronic Six" from the list of winners is supposed to be "Electric Six." Let's hope it's not a Ted Leo-ish flub! Winners of the 2009 Feed the [...]
Taco Bell Feed the Beat program open call Taco Bell has announced the 2009 installment of its Feed the Beat program. For the last 4 years, Feed the Beat has rewarded 165 up-and-coming bands and artists with the opportunity to receive free Taco Bell while on the road. This year, Feed the Beat will again conduct a nationwide search for 100 bands and provide them with one month’s supply of Fourthmeal ($500 in Taco Bell Bucks per band). The open call for bands to register for Feed [...]

It's wrong, it's very wrong. But it's so very, very good. Taco Bell are offering bands free taco bell foods as part of their regular Feed The Beat promotion. Five hundred dollars worth of Taco Bell bucks (or money-off coupons, in other words), which works out at about 600 cheese roll-ups. Enough to keep a drummer happy. And, don't worry, bands: they've cleaned up the kitchens:

Originally partaken at SomaCow.com In this, their finest hour, the guys talked about food, the internet, and TV... It's much more than it sounds, trust me. It's that time of year again, kids go back to school, seasonal places start shutting down, and Geoff goes out of town a lot. It's usually good work, him being out of town. It just is hard being in a new place. At first glance, it looks like your choices for food are Taco Bell, [...]

Please tell me this is a joke? Does Taco Bell really think they can get away with this? Clearly they are totally jacking Kidrobot! These little guys practically have the same bodies as the Kidrobot's " Dunny " and " Munny ". The packaging is the same and they are blind boxed just like the Kidrobot toys. The only thing different are their heads, since they are shaped like bells. Haha! I get it...Taco Bell, Bellheadz. Brilliant! Original! NOT! . Big brands want to [...]

Being that I'm fairly new to Los Angeles, and that we don't have In-N-Out in the Chi, I had to learn on the go about the "secret menu" that the eatery offered. Usually anything secret pertaining to a restaurant in Chicago, usually meant someone was running numbers out of the back of Big Herms, or that TC wore a hairnet on his chest hair. But I digress. Here are some of restaurants off the menu items. 1. In-N-Out Burger’s “secret menu” isn’t so secret these days – in fact, they’ve posted it on their [...]

Huh. I honestly figured the little chihuahua died every coupla years and they just kept on replacing it. So much for that . Gidget, the Chihuahua best known for her Taco Bell ad campaign (and her famous overdubbed tagline, "Yo quiero Taco Bell"), died from a stroke on Tuesday night at age 15."She made so many people happy," says Gidget's trainer, Sue Chipperton. PEOPLE met both Gidget and Sue at a Hollywood animals photo shoot in February, where the pup was a consummate pro and delighted the crew with her playful nature. [...]
"Nannerpuss," "Gimme Dat Fish," "Do You Wanna Get Frosty With Me," "Combination Pizza Hut And Taco Bell" -how many of this year's more memorable songs have been at the very least inspired by the grease merchants that line this nation's roadways and service plazas? Apparently enough to get the creative minds at Taco Bell's ad agency thinking that the Mexic-ish chain deserved a song of its own, and that said song really needed to go viral, albeit not in the "upset stomach" way. After the jump, feast your ears on "It's All About The [...]

Just saw these two alts chilling on a 'fourth meal' at Taco Dell. Not sure if they are 'pregaming', 'after partying' or spending their evening at a Taco-Centric party. I remember when Taco Bell came out with a marketing gimmick called 'the Fourth Meal.' Think that the concept of a Fourth Meal which exists between dinner & lunch is supposed to appeal 2 people who are up late at night 'doing drugs' or 'drinking', or possibly 'poor people who work in the janitorial industry.' I believe that it was made to [...]

Das Racist are a duo making music satirical by nature and this project came to existence really in the name of fun. Their tracks are all really out of this world and so damn trippy in a mexican sense, you have to hear it for yourself. BUT... there is one particular track which is totally outrageous and ridiculous it makes you wanna dance to it. I dont know how. [...]

Das Racist - Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell (Wallpaper. Remix) This song is so absolutely ridiculous I had to post about it. Not to mention the Bay Area’s own Wallpaper. killed it on this remix! There is not much break down needed about this song except that it’s hilarious and totally party oriented. Have fun with this one! Photos by Casey Landman Last week The Syndicate invaded Aspen, CO with thousands of other action-sports fans, brands and bands for the 13th annual Winter X-Games ! Taco Bell sponsored a stage that showcased the winners of their Feed The Beat program. The lineup consisted of the 4 winning bands - Thousand Foot Krutch , Fireflight , Hit The Lights , and The Photo Atlas . ESPN aired the games and featured music from [...]

SomaCow Media is proud to present SomaCow , brought to you in this hour by Mom's cooking, Grandma's Potato Salad, J's Martinis, and The Redboy Podcast . I know, weird, right? In this hour, we gave thanks, mocked Twilight, and chatted up a good friend of the show, even if he is a Ginger. I would prattle on here about family, and friends, and all that jazz, but the fact of the matter is I am in Fatty Free Fall, and feel that [...]

Remember how rapper 50 Cent was suing fast food chain Taco Bell because they offered to donate $10,000 to the charity of his choice if he’d change his name to 79 Cent, 89 Cent, or 99 Cent to correspond with the prices on their value menu? Well Taco Bell isn't going down without a fight or some mud slinging. Taco Bell has called him "a self-described former drug dealer and hustler" and they're not done there. "(This lawsuit is) another of Jackson's attempts to burnish his gangsta rapper persona by distorting beyond [...]

Remember when Taco Bell tried to pull off that dumb publicity stunt where it would have donated $10,000 to charity if 50 Cent changed his name to 79, 89, or 99 Cent for a day? Remember how pissy Curtis got about the whole thing, how he said that Taco Bell had ruined his reputation among bloggers and how he was going to sue the MexiMelts off the fast-food chain ? He wasn't kidding: He filed a suit against the Bell in July, saying that the company "stole his endorsement" when they sent out that admittedly goofy letter and got [...]
