UK Producer, Stumbleine, released an album this past fall, 'Spiderwebbed,' which obviously missed my radar since it's now February. A friend and fellow music-lover recommended that I check out the track, "Cherry Blossom," and suggested I put on my good headphones. I was hooked pretty much immediately to the song - it's smooth and a little infectious. The overall album is beautifully mellow and definitely mood setting (or suiting). When I heard that Iron & Wine announced a new album, and released a shiny new single, I must say, I was not expecting this. The track, "Lovers' Revolution," is a jazzy breed of music that I never saw coming from Mr. Sam Beam & company - quite the departure from "Waiting For A Superman." I have yet to spend much time with 'Hummingbird,' but it seems like the album is more mellow, and a little less poppy than 'Gorilla Manor,' which is not a bad thing (although I LOVED GM). I enjoyed listening to the album from start to finish and never had one desire to skip over a track - it is beautiful music.
