Bird Dog is Patrick Rees ' first E.P. as a solo artist and boy has he started in style. The tracks on the e.p. are made up of sketches of old demos mostly written while traveling around South-East Asia in 2011 on a $20 dollar guitar that doubled as an umbrella in tropical storms. Returning to England at the beginning of 2012 he started to play around with the demos, making all the recordings himself on his laptop adding harmonies or extra parts without worrying about how he might perform them live.
Now you know when believing is hard but you go now And you feel what you drag across the floor Lukasz Wierzbowski In case anyone missed the news, The Tallest Man On Earth released a new album just a week ago. For those of you unfamiliar with The Man, he's a singer-songwriter type, whose folky style, voice, and effusive lyrics harken heavily to a certain Bob Dylan. Now, I'm not crazy about Bob

Just over a week ago, on Friday June 15th 2012, I had the privilege of seeing Kristian Matsson of The Tallest Man on Earth in concert at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Toronto, Ontario. I have been wanting to write a review for some time now, but as we all know, sometimes work and the real world can get in the way. Nonetheless, I am writing to all of you now to let you know just how amazing the concert really was. Having already [...]

The Tallest Man on Earth's latest album, There's No Leaving Now , is honest, genuine and all-around a great bit of folk music. Join Chuck and Deuce as they take a look at the inner workings of the album, try to discern meaning from its lyrics, and discuss if The Tallest Man on Earth is really anything more than a "Swedish Bob Dylan." There's No Leaving Now is available NOW.

On the spectrum of folk music, your extremes exist in the form of social commentary on one end, such as that of Bob Dylan, and the existential, ethereal dreamscapes of artists such as Sam Beam on the other end. Somewhere in the middle of that spectrum falls Kristian Matsson, the Swedish folk artist who is better known as The Tallest Man on Earth. With the release of his third LP, There's No Leaving Now , Matsson has begun to earn the admiration of the music world beyond the bloggers, having been highlighted by mainstream outlets such as NPR . [...]

After opening for Bon Iver in 2008, Kristian Matsson garnered countless comparisons to Bob Dylan because of his folky wanderlust and romantic, husky crooning. Matsson’s last release, The Wild Hunt , built the foundation of his music around his potentially abrasive vocals, allowing his lyrics to shine through. There’s No Leaving Now , his third album as The Tallest Man On Earth , is hardly a departure [...]

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars It seems like Kristian Mattson is on a roll, musically speaking. His music has progressed through his first two albums, and he continues his own tradition with his latest release as The Tallest Man on Earth , There's No Leaving Now . At this point in his career, his voice and musical stylings have become familiar, making the work on this album more personal. Upon listening to the first track, "To Just Grow Away," I noticed that [...]

The other day I was listening to my ipod on shuffle on the way to work and The Tallest Man on Earth song "1904" came on. I got the same comforting feeling that you get when you grow up with a song; the feeling once you get to "know" a jam. I quickly realized to myself, man, this song just came out. But The Tallest Man on Earth's music is like that-both timeless and comforting in a way that is refreshingly old school. His newest album There's No Leaving Now continues in the same vein [...]
the tallest man on earth - 1904 [swedish singer songwriter kristian matsson returns with a whole new collection of dylan-esque dittys (which have definitely tapped a chord cause the man is selling out alot of his US tour stops). it's really the raw simplicity of his music that i'm attracted to and with this new album, i have a nice new soundtrack for the summer!] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld
There's No Leaving Now showcases the familiar folk stylings of Kristian Matsson – trussing bittersweet tales of places and faces articulated in the warm, husky tones of the modern-day Dylan.
