Bonnaroo just announced their lineup, and it's so fantastic, it almost makes it worth sitting through Weird Al's wonkiness to hear it (almost). Every festival has its own personality, and two of Bonnaroo's favorite headliners are back this year - Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Mumford & Sons . And then a bunch of our new favorites were added this year, such as David Byrne & St. Vincent (new as a duo), Alt-j , Tame Impala , and HAIM , to mention just a few. But, wait. Bonnaroo [...]

Words: Alison Potter, Emily Solan, Howard Gorman, Rajan Lakhani, Raman K, Saam Das, and Simon Opie 2012. The year that guitar music died. The year that hip hop died. The year that dubstep died. No. None of these things happened. 2012 was as healthy a year for music as any. At FADED GLAMOUR , we picked some of our favourite albums of 2012 and put them together in a list of 25 below. Pop, R&B, hip hop and yes, even guitar music [...]
About 200 of you guys participated in our annual readers poll, and the results were tight. You had the chance to vote for 5 albums, and I gave each album a point value, decreasing with each vote. So first place got 5 points, second place got 4, etc... The race was very close between Frank Ocean & Tame Impala, but in the end, Frank Ocean took home the Orange gold. All in all, the taste of you faithful bunch alligns quite well with mine, minus Mumford & Sons. In total, 252!! albums were voted for, which is insane. [...]

My top ten for the year, with a brief explanation/comment. Enjoy & Happy New Year! ...... 1. Grizzly Bear – Shields The guys in Grizzly Bear killing it, once again. This record is almost perfect. The compositions are strange & beautiful, and they complement the haunting singing styles of Ed Droste and Daniel Rossen. If you didn’t get this album – you missed (but there's still time!). Check Out: Yet Again [mp3] [...]

I'm sure I missed a lot of great records this year, but these ones stood out to me. 1. CLOCK OPERA - Ways To Forget 2. LORD HURON - Lonesome Dreams 3. WILD CUB - Youth 4. CALIFORNIA WIVES - Art History [...]

SOLOMON GREY - FIRECHILD MØ - MAIDEN DAVID BYRNE & St. VINCENT - WHO BRETON - EDWARD THE CONFESSOR NICHOLAS DESAMORY - MOVE YOUR ASSETS [...]
