(photo by cubagallery ) These are 50 tracks that delighted, inspired and fascinated us in 2012 and that we think are worthy of remembering long after the year is over. We present them here in highly unscientific ordered list form, with Matt's songs marked with a "-MG" and my choices with a "-TJ" next to them. To better spread the love, we've stuck with the one song per artist rule. Click here to download all the tracks in a zip and subscribe to our Spotify Playlist to stream them all. Enjoy y'all! [...]

Last week we started our "Best Songs of 20123 lists . There's no order to them. Why should there be? You should check them all out and decide for yourself. We'll be listing our favorites all month, and we've continued to do so in today's show. So, here's the playlist from today's My Old Kentucky Blog Radio on SIRIUS XMU , Channel 35! Tune in to channel 35 on either SIRIUS or XM at Noon ET or 12am ET/9pm PST each [...]
Our year end lists are wrapping up at this point, but we wouldn't be a legitimate music site without a list of the top songs from 2012. Personally, I feel like this list is a thousand times more difficult to compose than an albums list because we're dealing with close to 400-500 songs in the running. It's been a long process trying to narrow that iTunes playlist down to 100, and I know some incredible tunes from this year are missing, but we hope you enjoy. Ladies and gentlemen, follow the jump for the ATH version of top 2012 songs. [...]
Sorry for the delay, but here it is, the fourth and final post of my favorite albums of 2012 (so far). If I had to rank my favorite albums of the year today, at least three of the albums below would make the cut. But alas, I still have about 5 months to narrow it down, but please check back in December to see who makes the cut. If you haven't already, be sure to check out parts 1-3 ( part 1 // part 2 [...]

Not that we had a winter this year on the East Coast, but Spring is in full bloom here in Brooklyn. Post-bloom actually, which is a good thing for you allergy sufferers. And so thaws my blog which has been on deep freeze since February. So here we are with this year's Spring Fever mix and I think it turned out pretty good! Lots of great new sounds, covering a lot of sonic territory (well, within a certain pale milieu, let's face it). Anyway, here you go, do enjoy. DOWNLOAD SPRING FEVER 2012 [...]

Tom's on his way to NYC's Pop Conference - here's his event , a panel about mixtapes, which he knows a little bit about - so I'm filling in today on the video beat. Even if he was around, he's still probably overstimulated from that dizzying best K-Pop videos list he put together yesterday. Anyway, let's do this, one time, for your mind, one time. SPOILER ALERT: No Madonna . Head below for this week's five best videos. Read More...

“I’m looking for something that’ll… break through. You know?” James Woods’ Max Renn yearns in David Cronenberg’s 1983 cult classic Videodrome . Oh, how things have changed. In today’s day and age, we’ve already drowned in media. It’s swallowed us. We’re nothing but a bubble amidst one infinite, engulfing abyss. Intimidated? You should be. With each passing second, you’re losing opportunities to take advantage of a culture that’s moving ahead and at an exhausting rate. You could very well be alone… left behind… abandoned. Terrified yet? Yes? Well, that’s more like it. -Michael Roffman [...]
