It's been a minute since we previously wrote about Astronautalis , but we're doing our best to make it up to the quick-witted Minneapolis, Minn.-based rapper here. Dude's been causing some damage on the charts lately with his new album, This Is Our Science , which debuted at number 32 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart. Not bad for a dude with minimal coverage, right? His success is well deserved as this is his most fully realized and accessible effort to date. It might just be us, but Minneapolis indie hip-hopper Astronautalis is on his way to the big time with his fourth full-length album, the CoS Top Star-earning This Is Our Science . However, the man born Charles Andrew Bothwell is painting a very different picture of himself with the video for "Contrails". In the aforementioned clip, Astronautalis walks the streets as a blind beggar, before guest singer Tegan Quin picks him up and lets Mr. Bothwell get behind the wheel. So, if we were to retrace the steps backwards, does this mean an At the Drive-In reunion is on the horizon? Not sure if this is a "one-off" date, but Jim Ward (Sparta/Sleepercar vocalist) is opening up a bar/concert venue, Bowie Feathers and Tricky Falls respectively in the downtown part of El Paso. The duo of Jim Ward and Tegan Quin of Tegan and Sara may have previewed something that SHOULD be at least one full length. We got a taste of She & Him and Pete Yorn and ScarJo, but the heartfelt duet of "Broken Songs" is poignant number that deserves further exploring. The vocals of one another feed off of each other brilliantly in a way that isn't unbearably sweet.
