Here's another new track from Tennis ' upcoming album, Young & Old , to be released soon. Mueez posted one of the tracks from the album a little while ago, which can be heard here . This new track, My Better Self , is Tennis doing their Tennis-y thing with the piano and light, airy vocals. If you've enjoyed any of Tennis' previous work, you'll likely enjoy this track as well. Check out the song below:
I’ll be honest. Tennis is a bit hit and miss with me. I loved “Marathon” and “Take Me Somewhere”, but Cape Dory didn’t quite fill my time like I thought it would after the initial rush. Now though, things seem to be different. I had a somewhat soft spot for “Origins” and then “My Better Self” popped up on the interwebs and I found Tennis again. This is probably my new favorite from the brief Tennis catalog. It has a little more soul, or something. I just dig it is all.
Denver-based indie-pop outfit Tennis are scheduled to release their sophomore album, Young & Old , via Fat Possum on February 13. As time creeps closer to the release of the Cape Dory follow-up, Tennis finishes off 2011 with a soft bang with the recent release of their own cover of Broadcast ’s “Tears in the Typing Pool,” a cut from the band’s 2005 Tender Buttons release. Tennis frontman Patrick Riley told NME : “Broadcast have been a [...]

Tennis Origins Stream + Deep In The Woods Video One million life points to Tennis for winning song of the day so earlier on in the competition. Just kidding it’s not a competition, it’s just great music. For their forthcoming album guitarist Patrick Riley, vocalist Aliana Moore and drummer James Barone of Tennis headed to Nashville to work with The Black Keys ’ Patrick Carney. “Origins,” is a product of that session, and [...]

Here is this week’s music singles chart for the week ending November 20 -26. This week's #1 goes to Toronto's The Wooden Sky with Angelina from their City of Lights EP. Here is this week's music singles chart for the week ending November 13 - 19. Again Grimes is #1 with a song from her upcoming album Visions which drops in 2012. Another great synth poppy electronica track. There are four new debuts from Tennis, Cloud Nothings and many more. Check it out. This Week Last Week Total Weeks Artist Songs [...]
I’ve been slowly warming up to Tennis over the past year, especially since they did that solid cover of “Tell Her No” from The Zombies last month. This is what a single is supposed to sound like. Not just in the typical pr/digital online marketing cycle scheme of being catchy or bouncy enough for average ears, this is obvious radio material of the highest order…a major label’s wet dream. Patrick Carney’s (The Black Keys) production has to be recognized. He adds a pretty heavy pulse to the [...]

I became relatively enamored with The Zombies' 1968 sun-kissed opus, Oracle and Odyssey , over the summer and I'm probably a better music writer for it (that and " Time of the Season ," man). While I've only recently dug into the Britpop band's brief--as in two--album discography, I've always had an appreciation for "Tell Her No." I can close my eyes and still hear it through the tinny speakers of my aunt's '90s, white Chrysler Imperial, her aged voice singing along to the sounds of her youth while the hot, burgundy leather stuck to [...]

Anyone who likes the indie surf-pop music of Tennis . They just released a cover by The Zombie's Tell Her No . It's a cool two minute song. The band is recording a new album for their follow-up debut album. That album will come out next year. Have a listen or download to this cover.
