Little Dragon gave us an awesome show - in fact, I didn't expect less. Reptar  (@reptarmusic) were completely nuts. Their frontman didn't hold back in any way, and the show was better for it. He would yell at the top of his lungs, plugging away with everything he had and erupting with an unrecognizable voice. It was almost as though he had a foreign accent, but from a country that doesn't exist. Nonetheless, Reptar was the perfect wake up and preparation for even more great music the rest of the night. Hoping to snag a good spot to see Ben Harper, I arrived early enough to catch the opener, Grace Woodroofe. I immediately regretted this decision once I had procured a spot and was able to watch her "perform". Deceived by her deep mature voice, her stage antics were more age appropriate to that of a teenager singing into a hairbrush in her bedroom. Not knowing the proper etiquette for a musician on stage, she chose to imitate the idea of the rock star, by thrashing about with her hair covering her face, and then immediately realizing that this was impractical [...]

If you don't know the music of Elbow, you are doing your ears a great injustice.  Their music is epic!  The band is great and lead singer Guy Garvey's voice has been known to draw tears to many an eye.  I saw Elbow live at New York's Terminal 5 on September 25, 2011 and the show was insanely awesome.  The final song of the night was "One Day Like This."  Check out the video here. Our friend Nick Irving went to the Lotus show on Saturday night at Terminal 5 and shot the hell out of it. The band returns to the road on Oct. 20th in New Haven, CT and play a month worth of shows across the country as deep fall and winter start to set in, including a two-night stand here in San Francisco. Earlier this year, English quintet Elbow ran through a string of arena tour dates at home, performing to thousands of fans, which included a performance on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury.
