Little Dragon LIVE at Terminal 5, NYC (Live Video)

Little Dragon LIVE at Terminal 5, NYC (Live Video) Little Dragon gave us an awesome show - in fact, I didn't expect less. Playing before a sold out audience at New York City's Terminal 5 on Friday, October 14, to a size-ably larger audience than when I saw them at Le Poisson Rouge -are signs of them moving into well-deserved star status.  The show was tight in structure, with every want fulfilled. From Yukimi Nagano' s flawless vocals and percussion skills to her little shimmy hip moves, to Erik Bodin slaughterhouse rhythms on the drums, Fredrik Källgren Wallin's bass grooves-dark [...]

Girls headlining Terminal 5 (dates)

Girls headlining Terminal 5 (dates) Girls at Bowery Ballroom last month ( more by Ryan Barkan ) Girls did us a favor last month and decided to play two shows at Bowery Ballroom (9/23, 9/24) even though they had previously headlined the bigger Webster Hall . Well, don't get used to it because Girls' next NYC show is happening, not down at the small Mercury Lounge or even back at Webster or Irving, but instead at the massive Terminal 5 on January 14th . [...]

Concert Round Up: October 11-18

Tuesday, October 11th, RJD2 and Icebird, Brooklyn Bowl, Tickets $15 10 years! My god, that is a LIFETIME! I cant believe I have been making records on a national level for 10 years. In 1999, I was just making these little beats in my bedroom for release on an independent label. Fast forward to 2009, and I’m….making these little beats in my bedroom for release on an independent label. But when it all comes down to its most base level, the goal is still the same: to make a piece of music that [...]

Review: Ladytron live at Terminal 5

Review: Ladytron live at Terminal 5 Photos by G. Helen Marnie of Ladytron Ladytron!  My first time seeing the British synthpop band was on October 8, 2011 at New York's Terminal 5.  VHS or Beta opened the show and got the crowd ready to dance.  Ladytron took the stage around 9:30 and in additon to a great performance, there was a great light show.  Ladytron has 2 females and 2 males.  Helen Marnie sings most lead vocals and Mira Aroyo also sings lead on a few songs.  The 2 guys Reuben Wu [...]

FOSTER THE PEOPLE SCORCHED TERMINAL 5 [PHOTOS]

FOSTER THE PEOPLE SCORCHED TERMINAL 5 [PHOTOS] Reptar  (@reptarmusic) were completely nuts. Their frontman didn't hold back in any way, and the show was better for it. He would yell at the top of his lungs, plugging away with everything he had and erupting with an unrecognizable voice. It was almost as though he had a foreign accent, but from a country that doesn't exist. Nonetheless, Reptar was the perfect wake up and preparation for even more great music the rest of the night. Cults  (@cultscultscults) have improved [...]

It's Advertising Week (TVOTR playing Terminal 5)

It's Advertising Week (TVOTR playing Terminal 5) TV on the Radio advertising Heineken in Aug ( more by Ryan Muir ) "MADISON AVENUE claims that the annual Advertising Week in New York is like New York Fashion Week for smart people. The fashionable set counters that Advertising Week is like Fashion Week for ugly people. As the eighth annual Advertising Week starts, it seems the organizers are smart in at least one way: They have significantly beefed up the agenda for the event -- which begins on Monday and continues through [...]

10.01.11 | Ben Harper | Terminal 5

Hoping to snag a good spot to see Ben Harper, I arrived early enough to catch the opener, Grace Woodroofe. I immediately regretted this decision once I had procured a spot and was able to watch her "perform". Deceived by her deep mature voice, her stage antics were more age appropriate to that of a teenager singing into a hairbrush in her bedroom. Not knowing the proper etiquette for a musician on stage, she chose to imitate the idea of the rock star, by thrashing about with her hair covering her face, and then immediately realizing that this was impractical [...]

According2g.com presents "One Day Like This" live by Elbow in NYC
HD Video by G. If you don't know the music of Elbow, you are doing your ears a great injustice.  Their music is epic!  The band is great and lead singer Guy Garvey's voice has been known to draw tears to many an eye.  I saw Elbow live at New York's Terminal 5 on September 25, 2011 and the show was insanely awesome.  The final song of the night was "One Day Like This."  Check out the video here. Video/Review: “Pumped Up Kicks” live by Foster the People at Terminal 5, NYC

According2g.com presents "Pumped Up Kicks" live by Foster The People in NYC
HD Video by G. On September 28, 2011, Los Angeles’ Foster The People made a triumphant return to New York, playing their second of two sold out shows at Terminal 5.  I knew when I saw them earlier this year at the much smaller Bowery Ballroom they were going to be huge, and I was so pleased to see that the rest of the world has caught on.  In some ways, I expected their fan base to be emo hipsters, but instead it seemed to consist of tween girls.  But then again, when you think about the fact [...]

PHOTOS: Lotus @ Terminal 5, NYC 9/24/11 Our friend Nick Irving went to the Lotus show on Saturday night at Terminal 5 and shot the hell out of it. The band returns to the road on Oct. 20th in New Haven, CT and play a month worth of shows across the country as deep fall and winter start to set in, including a two-night stand here in San Francisco. Sweet. Check out Nick's photo gallery from the NYC show below... [...]

Live Review: Elbow, Glasser at New York’s Terminal 5 (9/25)

Live Review: Elbow, Glasser at New York’s Terminal 5 (9/25) Earlier this year, English quintet Elbow ran through a string of arena tour dates at home, performing to thousands of fans, which included a performance on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury. Yet over here in the States, they're headlining shows at venues like New York City's Terminal 5. Sort of a mindfuck. Though, similar to Muse years back, they're still working on breaking through in America. If last night's performance is any indication, they're well on their way. Before Elbow arrived to near mass hysteria, Glasser walked out [...]

Kyuss Lives! lived @ Terminal 5 with The Sword & MonstrO (pics & setlist) photos by Greg Cristman Kyuss Lives! @ Terminal 5 The Aquarian Weekly: You're doing rehearsals? John Garcia: It's pretty much pre-production for the next record has already started and we're just trying to get all of our ducks in a row and whatnot. Wow. That seems really quick. Do you have new material already, or is pre-production writing it? [...]

Review: Elbow live at Terminal 5

Review: Elbow live at Terminal 5 Photos by G. Guy Garvey of Elbow Manchester's Elbow played a sold out show at Terminal 5 in New York, on September 25, 2011.  Before you read on, if you don't know Elbow's music, you are doing your ears a great disservice.  Their 2008 album "The Seldom Seen Kid" is a masterpiece, according2g and it ranks up there with my favorite albums of all time.  It's been about 2 years since Elbow played in New York and I forgot how funny lead singer Guy [...]
