This morning I checked our drop box to look through our daily load of submissions and I found an email from an Austin,Tx artist named M.i who, for the past week has been on my radar after seeing some of his music on our friend Ashley Outrageous' blog. As fate should have it M.i. hit us up to post his newest video from his Mixtape "The Coldplay Sessions" and I am really happy he did cause this dudes music is really on point. S/O to M.i keep doing your thing I hope some A&R's catch wind of your talent dude.

Beginning with subtle sounds, this post-rock meets shoegaze band out of Texas does a great job creating a haunting melody, and their new video for "Black Dunes" capitalizes on their ability to create an eerie song. Malcolm Elijah overlaps black and white footage with surreal results. A typical song is about three and a half minutes long. The first one this year is Troller, a dark synth-wave duo from Austin TX where is also from another band that fits this sound Sleep 8 Over. Songs like this with that singer/songwriter vibe remind me of the days when this was the type of music I listen to exclusively. Finding songs before they were on Grey's Anatomy or some WB show was kind of my specialty back in the day.
