There's a pretty rad sounding party tonight at Shea Stadium. It's a prom theme party with a few bands playing. Most notably The Beets are playing an entire set of Beatles tunes, which just has to be awesome. The Pendulum Swings is Jason Trachtenburg's new band, they're playing too. There's a new Tuesday party in town called Rando and from what I hear it's pretty crazy. My bro Full Time Fun as well as Dances With White Girls are behind the madness. On Saturday the above mentioned bands played a Todd P curated show at the Brooklyn Museum. It was part of the museum's First Saturday series. Another Sunday means another Pool Party. Due to being out of town and severe hangovers I've only been to the first one this year. However, I think I'll swing by for Dark Meat today. Those dudes are fucking awesome. After that there are two pretty excellent options. First you have the official Pool Party after party at Brooklyn Bowl. They're supposed to have some kind of free booze for 2 hours!
I still have not made it out to Bruar Falls yet but they've been putting some solid shows together, which ain't easy. Tonight The Beets, No Bunny, Hunx & His Punx, German Measles, and Baby Shakes are playing. Elsewhere in Brooklyn, there's some kegger at some random residence with some random bands. Now it doesn't sound so hot but those parties usually end up being the best.
The Beets have officially been around for a whole year now and are celebrating with a free BBQ in Brooklyn. Knight School, Air Waves, and Cause Co-Motion are also going to be playing.
Two awesome shows tonight which are pretty close to each other so hit them both.
