The band was able to pull in a sizable crowd to the Park Street venue despite the rain in the city. While the two new singles were well-received, special adulation was reserved for their rendition of Coldplay's 'Yellow', and old favourites 'The Bomb Song' and 'My Life', off 20092s Love.Hate.Heroes . Self-proclaimed left-in-the-middle sort-of alt rockers Them Clones ' newest video for 'All About A Heartbreak' draws inspiration from the unlikeliest of sources. Take our plastic-fantastic hero's entrance for instance, that Porsche seems custom made for Shahid Kapoor to walk out of. Now consider our heroine at 2:24. Odd, how these guys haven't been sued by the makers of Vidya Balan starrer The Dirty Picture . The single itself is one of two promised new singles from the New Delhi quintet now-quartet. Watch 'All About A [...]

The 2011 edition of New Delhi's Big Horn Festival has been announced. Incidentally, this event is happening at the same time as the Delhi Jazz Festival , which features Indian and international jazz acts at Nehru Park. [...]

The latest brand to jump on the Indian rock band hunt bandwagon is fizzy drink maker Sprite. Joining a long list of unimaginatively titled (we're still to find something that beats " Kurkure Desi Beats Rock On with MTV " though) talent hunts is Sprite Music Rockers. Yes. Sprite. Music. Rockers. Unnecessary double emphasis name aside, the payoff for bands who take the plunge in this contest is an opening slot on a six city tour for "iconic bands". These "iconic bands" include Them Clones, Bhoomi, Encantada and Luke Kenny. To enter, your band has to [...]

The Indiecision Decade In Review is our retrospective of the last 10 years in Indian independent music. These are our picks of the best Indian indie songs of the last decade. #25: 'Gutterment' - Pin Drop Violence For a couple of years in the early-'00s Pin Drop Violence was India's flagship metal act. Fresh off their victory at I-Rock 2001, the Mumbai band incited brutal moshpits wherever they went powered by the uber-tight hardcore of [...]
Yes, Them Clones were once a kvlt band. So you thought 'Zephyretta' was the sappy-est Clones ballad? Enter 'Wait For Me'. If Love. Hate. Heroes is a collection of A-sides, 'Wait For Me' is definitely a Z-side. And then there's this video. There's so much going on in the four minutes you are about to watch that you might miss some of it. So here's a list: There has to be more to the opening 'and the Party ended....' screen than just a statement of a party [...]

New Delhi alternative act Them Clones brought the launch tour of their debut album Love. Hate. Heroes to Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai last month. We were there. Notes If you've seen the Clones before, you know the drill - open with 'The Bomb Song', throw in an RATM or Blur cover, 'Zephyretta' near the end, close with 'My Life'. It was surprising then that the band chose to open with the songs that didn't make it to the final Love. Hate. Heroes [...]

The second single from Them Clones ' debut album Love. Hate. Heroes got the video treatment courtesy the folks over at Babble Fish Productions . This is the second video from the record; the first being the animated video for 'My Life' . 'The Bomb Song' is the moody, anti-establishment RATM-tribute we've come to know the Delhi alt rockers for. With its booming guitars and angsty lyrics ("Long live the dead"), it makes for an engaging live act; a sentiment well captured in this video. The video sees the Clones [...]

New Delhi alternative act Them Clones have finally released their debut album Love. Hate. Heroes . Once described by the Groovebox as the Chinese Democracy of Indian rock, the album is a joint release by Counter Culture Records and EMI and is the band's first full length studio release since the Clones came together in 2000. When the band released the first single 'My Life' (listen on the Indiecision music player) as a free download earlier this year, they asked fans to vote for tracks that would make it to the final album. From 17 [...]

Delhi alternative act Them Clones recently concluded a mammoth eight city tour last month promoting the first single from their coming album Love.Hat e. Heroes . The band is now extending the tour and playing five new dates in Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi and Gurgaon which will include unplugged sets as well. We caught the band unplugged when they played the Blue [...]
