"Good Ol' Boredom," "Life's A Dream," and "Done" are the kind of drawn out songs that originally had me suspecting the new album would follow in the vein of You In Reverse . There are a boatload of new releases Tuesday, including albums by Built To Spill , Mission of Burma and Air . I've spent the most time with Built To Spill's "There Is No Enemy," which I really like (and I'm not a huge fan of these guys). Mission of Burma's "The Sound The Speed The Light" has a cool, heavy sound that recalls the band's short-lived '80s heyday (at least in parts). HANK ALTOGETHER: Slowly, but surely, this Built to Spill record ( There is No Enemy , due 10/6 on Warner Bros.) is unfolding itself to the internet. built to spill is releasing there is no enemy on 10.6 and they're touring in support of the new record. sadly, they are not hitting new orleans.... check the bts site for all the dates and their are quite a few. the closest im coming to doug and co is this excellent audience recording from brisbane, australia on 1.2.08. this happened to be their first tour of australia. they actually played an encore of "randy describes eternity" but sadly it wasnt included. could be my mess up though? thanks to audiowhore for the recording.
