Obviously, we know the justification for a ninety quid starting price point - it's what people will pay and the band are greedy. That isn't what Mick Jagger says, though : You might say, 'The tickets are too expensive' - well, it's a very expensive show to put on, just to do four shows, because normally you do a hundred shows and you'd have [...]

For their first festival , the Onion 's A.V. Club has unleashed an impressive lineup with performances by the reformed Archers of Loaf, The Thermals, Tokyo Police Club, Telekinesis, and Eef Barzelay of Clem Snide Plays the Music of Journey. There are some artists who have no qualms selling tickets to their shows for whatever the market will bear. This week's B List looks at eight major bands that could charge more for ducats but don't. While none of these bands are "pulling a Fugazi" - a group who famously did their best to keep prices to [...]

Nice article about Trent Reznor trying to combat re-sale ticket outlets: http://www.rollingstone.com/ro ckdaily/index.php/2009/03/16/t rent-reznor-tells-fans-dont-bu y-from-scalpers-criticizes-sec ondary-ticket-market/ I always thought scalping was illegal, so I don't understand how it's ok for companies to resell tickets at hundreds of dollars above face value. The RS article makes mention of a time when scalping "used to be" illegal, so I guess the law has changed. It's good to see that Trent is speaking out against this practice. The ticket price issue is one that I feel strongly about. Kudos to Trent and to other acts like No Doubt, [...]
