Swedish rapper Timbuktu and live backing band Damn! will be celebrating 10 years of collaboration by recording a new album containing studio versions of songs previously only heard in concert. No word yet on what it will be called or when it will be released, but I'll keep you posted.

Larger Then Life is a new 8 song EP from Toronto (via Saskatoon) MC Muneshine (aka Rob Bakker) that features production from Dutch producers Vinyl Frontiers. It's also damn good and likely the best Canadian hip hop release so far this year. Seeing Ghettosocks do his set as the closer for the 2010 HPX version of the Herohill showcase reminded me of two things: 1. How does one get words to leave the mouth so quickly? Rap might not be my forte, but when I do come across rap that I enjoy, it's generally because there's something particularly appealing; it might be the production, the rhymes, or the lyrical flow's relationship with the music/beat. The name "Timbuktu" has often been associated with the unreachable, or the unreal, and when taken up by a rapper, it feels like it must be alluding to the rapper's flow and command of words.
