Back in May 2008 The Ting Tings burst onto the scene with their debut album We Started Something , and on the 27th of this month (February) the band will release their sophomore effort, Sounds from Noewheresville . Supposedly the band scrapped an entire album's worth of material when making new music and started over, and today a new track has surfaced titled "Soul Killing". I'm certainly not sold on this band but maybe the album will offer up a little more. See what you make of it and let us know if the feeling ismutual.

I was never a huge fan of The Ting Tings-their indie sound always seemed a bit too contrived and poppy for me. With that said, I can't get enough of their latest single leak, "Soul Killing". With a fantastic touch of dub, Jules de Martino and Katie White have quite the catchy tune on their hand. As horns flare and White sprays her cutesy vocals all over "Soul Killing", there is a little piece inside of me craving to hear the rest of this highly anticipated full-length. Sounds from Nowheresville is set to drop March 13 via Columbia. [...]

Manchester pop duo The Ting Tings may have taken four years to record the follow-up to their hugely successful We Started Nothing , but they weren't just sitting around – extensive touring and scrapped early sessions finally culminated in Sounds from Nowheresville , recorded in Spain. The record's second single is "Soul Killing," probably the only pop-reggae track in history to sample a creaking rocking chair, destined to be the band's next lighters-in-the-air anthem – "they can never hold us down!" The TING TINGS rather exert some calories outta their nasty mouth than have a hit single. We would rather write songs that nobody's going to hear than write dance tracks that would fit on the radio after David Guetta. I'd rather puke on my own feet than that. Good way to enjoy your recent irrelevancy. Espesh as recently leaked of a comeback long_one ain't getting any jolz feedback. Still I'd happily insert me long_one in that he-drummer's mouth.

The Ting Tings won't be making any classic albums, but they did manage to have a couple of party records on their debut. The two got their start doing house parties and playing small club venues in England. Sounds From Nowheresville won't be released until February 27th, but it leaked weeks in advance.
