All SachO doizsmoketreez. Footwork is strange stuff. I’ve seen it clear floors but I’ve also seen girls go crazy for it. Often times, it comes down to whether the DJ has a genuine feel for the genre, an all too rare occasion at a time when every other trainspotter is adopting Juke for purposes of fashion. In a genre that constantly teeters between avant-guard madness and raw populist functionalism, it’s all too easy to swerve off the road either way but if done right, the 160BPM tempo is the most exciting thing happening in electronic music [...]
Colourmusic is a band that I both love and hate, and doesn't necessarily fit in with most of the music you might expect from Your Music Is Awful, which results in this post being a bit longer than usual. Colourmusic formed in Stillwater, Oklahoma with three band members from Oklahoma (Ryan Hendrix, Nick Ley and Colin Fleishacker) and one from North Yorkshire, England (Nick Turner). (So, I guess that’s why they are Colourmusic , with a U, and not, Colormusic). There is a lot to dislike, OK (ha, ha), downright hate about Colourmusic. First, the way most of them look. [...]

Interview with Norway's Tog For MF Magazine : Tog Interview I did for MF Magazine Hey guys! Check out the interview I did with a hot new band out of Norway, Tog, which includes a hot pic of lead singer Lars Christian covered in chocolate. Yum… Cerebral and deep, and with the most danceable Indie tunes hitting your ears this summer, is Norwegian artist Tog. I had the opportunity to pick the brain of front man, Lars Christian, about [...]
"Tog" is from Colourmusic's new LP, My _____ is Pink , out today on Memphis Industries. The album is good enough that I didn't have any trouble listening to it in its entirety without once hitting next. http://www.colourmusic.net

With debut LP My __ Is Pink (get it on May 10th), Stillwater, OK psych-rockers Colourmusic are out to prove that they are more than just "kinda like Flaming Lips." Lead single Tog is a blissed-out reverb fest that rolls on the chilly, but danceable groove. In addition, by sharing the video for Tog (which purportedly features Wayne Coyne in a "flinger" role), we're hoping to grab that desirable, but evasive slop fetish audience. MP3 : [...]
My _____ is pink. by colourmusic Colourmusic 's sophomore LP, My __ Is Pink , is set for a May 17th release via Memphis Industries . The single off this vibrant and sexy concept album is "Tog," which is very reminiscent of Flaming Lips. Here, Colourmusic successfully creates layers of sounds, like Pollock’s drip method, blending heavy floor tom beats, gospel grooves, and melodic harmonies into a kaleidoscopic experience. This strange, yet beautiful esthetic warps the mind and bends reality into different textures and shapes.

For the first time since filming Freelance Whales in February 2010, we took to the New York City subway system for one of our Buzzsessions. Norway's Tôg met us off the 1st Ave L train, where they quickly set up their equipment and began to play three songs, all sung entirely in Norweigan. I may not understand a single word, but it's easy to comprehend the emotions they convey. It gets a little loud at times, but hey, that's the subway for you. [...]
![Colourmusic to Release Psychedelic LP ‘My ____ is Pink’ April 4th [Listen]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3335109_lg.jpg)
Oklahoma psych rockers Colourmusic set to drop their psychedelic concept album. Ready your psychedelics, friends. Colourmusic will blast the epidermis off your body and melt the fat deposits with their riffs. Layered beneath the crunching tumult, however, lay psych hymns, infectious grooves and infinitely hummable melodies. For all the hype in recent years of psychedelia's resurgence through electronic studio wizardry with bands like Animal Collective and Yeasayer, there really is only one band who is doing hard psychedelic: Colourmusic. And let it [...]
With a heavy heart and an ever-increasing bruise count, we bring to you the best of the rest of SXSW (or at least the ones we have photographed). Sigh.

by Bill Pearis DOWNLOAD : Tôg - Sansen (MP3) Tôg @ 3pm in Austin Wandering around Austin's East Side last week, I happened across Norway's Tôg (pronounced Toog) who were playing in the lot ajacent to Cheer Up Charlies. I'm not sure that 3pm under the hot sun was the appropriate introduction to the swirly dancepop (sung in their native tongue) this septet makes, but [...]

Certainly hit a wall today ploughing through the second half of the SXSW mp3 pile, the permanent bags beneath my eyes are swollen. Was worth it for the bright young things that emerged though. ~~~ A swirling wind chime from Northern Europe. Bowlegs doesn’t speak Norwegian, so we haven’t got the foggiest about what Tôg are going on about in this track ‘Sansen’. What we do know is that it has enough synth and retro vibe to sound like it should belong in a 70s/80s Norwegian kung-fu movie, complete with flailing flares and dodgy editing. Listen to it here: ‘Sansen’

Norwegian sensation Tôg is qualified, back home, as a “house-horror pop”. Who knows what that really means. What we know [...]
