RAC 's latest remix endeavor is nothing short of spellbinding. The Portland based producer takes on Joywave ’s incredibly catchy single “Tongues” (off of their 88888 mixtape), smooths things out and—in typical RAC fashion—breaks the song down to simple yet effective elements. Staccato stabs bounce along with the warm and cozy drums, simultaneously cradling you along and grabbing you by the throat. André Anjos smoothly lassoes in the original's chords, like an ice-cold glass of chocolate remix milk poured over a bowl of Joywave cereal. It was already good to begin with, but now [...]
RAC's back at it again with a new release. Honestly running out of description material whenever they dish out something new...the level of output is borderline ridiculous. This time through they're flipping Joywave's electric new single "Tongues" into the nu-disco space, and yes, yes it works as always. .

RAC must be one busy guy. He's been dropping remixes left and right lately. After a nice job putting his signature touch on Gentlemen Hall 's " Sail Into The Sun " a couple of week's ago, we've now been treated to RAC's revisioning of Joywave 's latest hit, "Tongues". First off, the girls are all about "Tongues". I was in NYC a couple of weeks ago, and check out Joywave live at PIANOS. As soon as they started to play "Tongues", the girls went nuts and then cleared [...]
Drunk Music Reviews is writer Caitlin Behle and illustrator John Sebastian. We go to shows and get blatantly, shamelessly drunk. We tweet our musings during the shows and sketch what we see and experience. The captions that end with @ drunkmusicrevws are actual tweets that were posted during the show. Tweets ending with J are reviews from John, while tweets ending with C are from Caitlin. The chart at the bottom of every illustration shows the drink tallies for the night. SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT: Drunk Music Reviews has an art opening Final Friday [...]

Maribou State – Tongue (ft. Holly Walker) Forthcoming on Southern Fried Records with remixes from James Welsh & Drew Hill.

Rochester rejoice: two of your best current musical experts (if not the two best) have joined forces and the results are as good as might be expected, which is to say, very. "Tongues," taken from Joywave 's upcoming 88888 mixtape (due out next week,) sees the five-piece band collaborate with Ones To Watch for 2013 KOPPS for a definite career highlight. The synth riff and sample that form the basis for the track are absolutely infectious, and actually serve as [...]

Rochester NY group Joywave have just debuted their sprightly new tune “Tongues”. This shimmering slice of electronic-pop is pure brilliance and ready for any dance floor across the universe. The silky smooth vocals of Daniel Armbruster play so perfectly next to the glitched up synths that fill up the air within seconds. The band’s new mixtape 88888 drops next week.

DOUBLE-FISTING FRIDAY! We've got not one, but TWO, sick new videos from our PopGun PR bands Teeth & Tongue and Von Haze. Australia-based singer Jess Cornerlius, otherwise known as Teeth & Tongue just premiered her video for "The Party Is You" on PAPERMAG . And as PAPER put it, the video will "cut to the quick for anyone who's had moments where they've felt like they're unwelcome somewhere." So perf. Click here to view the embedded video. Teeth and Tongue - “The Party Is You”

Since about Summer time when I was properly introduced to the duo of Ghost Beach , I was impressed. Their sound lands somewhere between a Passion Pit and a St. Lucia , but of course that is just a general reference as they make music that is entirely their own blend. We've actually heard a few songs of theirs prior to a release and now they have five track EP called Modern Tongues , which features those songs like "Miracle," "Been There Before," and "Tear Us Apart." For only five songs, the EP is solid [...]
Ghost Beach came on the scene a few months ago with the unstoppable tour de force on the blog circuit that was "Miracle," and they've yet to look back. Self-labeled as "tropical grit-hop" (?) the New York natives have established a firm grip on their own unique sound, and it's ... Read More

With a name like E.T. Habit , you'd naturally think the band would sound a little spacey. But this Chicago trio is positively other worldly. Earlier this summer, E.T. Habit dropped a 73 single, Venomous , on Chicago's landing spot for the weird and wild, HoZac Records . And seeing how they're playing the Empty Bottle tonight, I just had to share the psychitzo A-side, "Venomous (Tongues Descent)." Weird might be an understatement, but "Venomous (Tongues [...]

Today sucked. Seriously. There was a bunch of stuff I don't even want to get into, and then there's this stupid cold or I-don't-even-know-what that I've had for like two and a half weeks now. First it was a flu with a fever; then it was a regular cold with congestion; then it turned into a hellacious cough that literally kept me up for hours in bed. Now the back of my tongue hurts. Not my mouth, not my throat, my tongue. Really? What the hell? You know what you get if you Google "tongue pain?" CANCER. [...]

"Feels so good you'll lose control" This is such a cool song! It's also officially the most amazing track to come out of the Voice. Of course, given that this is from a contestant in the Swedish version of the show, that's no big surprise. Helena Gutarra used to sing with pop/punk back La Puma, but nothing that she did then could have prepared me for this type of a sound. Tongues On Fire is huge. To me, it sounds exactly like what Cyndi Lauper would release if she was just starting out in [...]
L.A. quartet C-horse just finished up a residency at Casey's, and in fine fashion. The quartet of singer-guitarist Cecilia Enriquez, bassist Lindsay Mancha, keyboardist Mack Marquard and drummer Courtney Olsen debuted this video for "Tongues," which was directed, actually, by one of our favorite drummers, Sean Johnson. It's a straight-ahead portrayal of the harmony-soaked pop on the quartet's 2011 debut album (which was produced by Joel Morales of Dios). There's more on the way; the foursome is working on a follow-up for later this year. ||| Previously: "What"

Was ich mit Sicherheit nicht kann, ist eine vernnftige Musikrezension schreiben. Fngt ja komisch an. "Highways".
