The Top MP3s have gone through many incarnations since the beginning of Consequence of Sound in 2007. What used to be an exhaustive roundup of all the singles, remixes, covers, and undiscovered gems emailed to us any given week evolved into a compilation whittled down to our 10 favorite new songs. For 2013, we’re again changing up the format with the hope of giving our selections some added weight. We’re still posting about our 10 favorite songs, but they’ll be ordered in quality from 10-1. Who takes home #1 this week? You’ll have to click ‘Next’ to find [...]
Torche have a 7" coming out on Volcom Entertainment pretty soon, but you don't have to wait to jam the new song! You can stream the song in the fancy player above. It's a cool mixed of pissed off and super happy fun. As little as that seems to make any sense, you'll get it ... Torche have posted a stream of "Keep Up" from their contribution to the Volcom Entertainment Vinyl Club.
And by that we mean they have a brand new song.

Escúchala a continuación. " Keep Up " es el lado a de la próxima serie (#34) de Volcom Entertainment Vinyl Club , la cual se estrenará en algún momento de [...]

Torche // “Keep Up” Here’s a brand new track from Southern sludge metal crew Torche . After last year’s most excellent Harmonicraft I’ve been eagerly anticipating hearing some new material from the energetic band. “Keep Up” is the A-side from their upcoming 7” with Volcom Entertainment and it does not disappoint. The track is pretty laid-back compared to their previous material. They also tone back any residual sugar high left over from Harmonicraft ’s candy-coated stoner pop. For the first 3/4’s of the track it’s pretty [...]

Florida metal titans Torche have been dropping singles of sugar-coated, bomb-string doom pop since the release of 20122s Harmonicraft . Last December, the band snuck in under the radar with the unholy one-off "Harmonislaught" , and the band keeps things heavy and full of hooks with their latest single "Keep Up". The song is the A-side to the forthcoming Volcom Entertainment Vinyl Club series, edition #34, which will see physical release sometime in July. Check it out below. Torche is out [...]

Torche's last full-length outing, 20122s Harmonicraft , was an absolute beast, but since then, they've stepped up their game yet another level on 7-inch one-offs like the fucking ridiculous " Harmonslaught " and now "Keep Up." The new track is Torche at their stoner-metal smoothest: all beach grooves and waxed-to-a-shine guitars. The single is being released via Volcom Vinyl Club in July. But you can spin the A-side here, now. Tour dates below, too. Read More... [...]

This new Torche track, and the fairly awesome album art above, comes courtesy of the Volcom Entertainment Vinyl Club , which totally exists. There's a certain reservation I had initially, considering a lot of the kids I went to high school with were Volcom clothing and weren't the nicest people, but "Keep Up" helps the cause a bit. Check out the track below, and if you are so inclined, subscribe to the Volcom Ent. Vinyl Club . A subscription ($40) gets you six shipped vinyls a year and discounts at the Volcom music store.
Florida's Torche is back with a band new single which will be getting a vinyl release via the Volcom Entertainment Vinyl Club . Stream the track above, and check out a review for band's last full-length, Harmonicraft , below: / via /
Let's get the week started right, shall we? ► Buzz Bands LA presents tonight's installment of the Criminal Hygiene residency at the Bootleg Bar, where Moses Campbell, Dirt Dress and the Cigarette Bums support (and Liv Marsico does a DJ set). ► Serena Ryder , the Toronto-based singer behind hit "Stompa" and whose album "Harmony" is en route July 16, headlines the Troubadour. ► Torches roars into Week 2 of their residency at the Echo — tonight will feature Arcade Fire cover songs — supported by Infantree, Radars to [...]
Torches really brought it on this EP. Okay, I know "it" is really vague; let me explain. These four songs are ruggedly dark with soaring harmonies and daring guitar lines. Each song displays a new side of the band, yet the entire EP is cohesive in its own right. If The People Stare find the band hungry for more and working on all four cylinders. Their influences seem to range from Of Monsters & Men to Belle & Sebastian , especially the latter on [...]

Torches is growing on my faster than wildfire... get it, it's a pun. They teased us a while back with the release of their single "When You Gonna?" and finally this past Monday they gave us their new EP If The People Stare . As if it was cool enough that the single was available for a free download, now the entire EP is as well. You can follow the bandcamp player link below to their site where you can download with a "name your price" option. Help these Cali rockers out and toss them a few dollars.
