I don't know about you, but after a long hard Wednesday, there is only one thing that can soothe my savage beast of a soul: street gang-related hi-jinks. Luckily Wildlife has me covered with their new video for Sea Dreamer off of their amazingly well received last album, Strike Hard Young Diamond . The video features the band messing with girls, doing some parking lot bowling, and it culminates with a good ol' fashioned brawl with a rival gang. I enjoyed it's Warriors-esque vibe, you may as well. You can catch Wildlife here in [...]

Toronto's Wildlife had a pretty good 2011. Touring all over North America in support of their debut record Strike Hard, Young Diamond and doing a session for Daytrotter . Hopefully the band will have a great 2012. I still haven't seen them live yet but I did manage to do a interview with the band back on February 4, 2011 . The band drop their music video for Sea Dreamer and was premiered on MuchMusic (Do people still watch that channel? ) If you like rival [...]

Following the large wave of critical acclaim, international commercial success and top accolade-garnering that met his last album, 20102s Troubador , and it's mega-huge (and endlessly remixed) global anthem single "Wavin' Flag" , Somali-Canadian hip hop musician K'naan makes his return to the new music section with new EP release More Beautiful Than Silence , a five-cut set boasting appearances from Nas and Nelly Furtado, and a stand-out track in "Coming To America", a catchy, but most importantly compelling , narrative tracking K's venture across the [...]

![[mp3] Bishop Morocco // Old Boys](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4040581_lg.jpg)
Tweet vaso link The opening to Bishop Morocco's "Old Boys" sounds like it's been left outside to warp in the sun and then played back; then things kick in and it makes perfect sense, not at all misshaped. And the track is a brief, soft-spoken slice of indie pop. It's got the slight, slow slap of drums and a buoyant guitar line supporting it. It's space-y and floating and a great introduction to a band I was previously unaware of. [...]

Tweet "Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes", David Bowie once sang. A rather apt song to be thinking of at the moment of my return back to the hallowed halls of LBYB after some time away. I'd like to tell you it was to do something grand like climbing Everest but sadly it was changes to personal stuff. All the while I was gone however, I kept an eye on the site and watched it go through some changes of its own, and what great changes they were. [...]
![[Introducing] – Whitehorse](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4035141_lg.jpg)
Tweet Beginning the record with a dancehall radio ballad dream entitled "Eulogy For Whiskers, Part 13 , Whitehorse certainly set themselves apart from the crowd of country-folk mix that seems to have suddenly permeated the country. What is perhaps even more incredible, though, is the follow-up to this lazy, tripped-out modern take on a ballad is unmistakable rockabilly rock 'n' roll with harmonies to boot on "Killing Time Is Murder" , which is available for free download [...]

I shant lie to you, I pretty much loved Teenage Kicks last EP , Rational Anthems , and so any news from the band is welcome on my cyber doorstep. And there appears to be TK news aplenty right now, as not only will they be playing in Halifax on March 30th (Michael's with Wildlife and Glory Glory), but their new EP, Be On My Side will be released on March 2nd. But that's not all! Teenage Kicks recently launched their Singles Club , and for the low, low price of simply your [...]

Zeds Dead took this remix and did something crazy… another remix! Danger remixed the Sebastien Tellier track "Divine." Zeds Dead just dropped a project recently, Adrenaline EP , which is full of bangers. Check it out. Download: Sebastien Tellier – Divine (Danger Remix) Zeds Dead ReRemix (MP3 Download)
Zeds Dead is pumpin out another banger, this time a reremix of Divine's remix of Sebastien Tellier's "Divine" (did ya get all that). Never heard Tellier before but he reminds me of a Beatle... "It shows off Young Empires as a group more than capable of joining the dance-floor ready elite..." Young Empires | Wake All My Youth EP If you want a little dose of 1980s nu-wave and inspired electropop with big beats, trippy, energetic vocals with compact but clever lyrics, could do much worse than wrapping your ears around Young Empires' debut EP Wake All My Youth . After a long while releasing teaser singles and snippets, the now four-piece band from Toronto have now delivered an EP on which every song is richly [...]
Swansea Recreation Centre + Blood Rexdale And The Walls Are Blonde - Unchained Swan Blood I've always considered the humorous element to Swansea Recreation Centre 's music one of its defining features, so I was pleased to see its patent exaggeration on this collaboration with Toronto folk band Blood Rexdale And The Walls Are Blonde (who provided vocals), for this bouncy synth-pop influenced quasi-cover of The Righteous Brothers' "Unchained Melody". The video teeters on the cusp of sublimity, and I'm so taken up in the Ariel Pink-esque vibe of the whole creation that [...]

Burd & Keyz - Burdstrumental (Never Get Over You) I've really slept on posting this. This mixtape was released in November 2011 I believe. Burd & Keyz are a production duo from Toronto who had been working together for some while. Unfortunately, during the making of this project Keyz passed away and so Burd finished the project as a sort of final farewell to his long time friend & production partner. ![A$AP Rocky - Live in Toronto [Concert Recap]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4024436_lg.jpg)
There was very little about the A$AP Rocky show at The Opera House in Toronto to suggest that this was going to be a banger of a show. To start, the A$AP crew had very little experience with a live crowd and - what we did know - was that they had a predilection to beating up sound guys . Plus, given that presumed assault charge, I didn't have the most supreme confidence that Rakim Mayers and the crew would even be getting into the country to begin with. But they did. And from there, they certainly maximized their [...]
