Not long after releasing his third studio album, Anything In Return , Chaz Bundick (aka Toro Y Moi ) returns with more music, this time under his other moniker Les Sins . The side project channels more straightforward, dance music-inspired electronic work, pouring on a barrage of bleeps and bloops while leaving behind the standard, laid-back chillness and pop of his Toro material. Check out two new tracks, "Grind" and "Prelims", below. Both will be released digitally and as a 123 on March 18th via Jiaolong, the label owned by Dan [...]

In today's news, another project that makes too much sense to be real. One March 18, Caribou's (aka Dan Snaith) Jiaolong imprint will release a split single from Toro Y Moi (aka Chaz Bundick) side project Les Sins that is more directly dancefloor oriented than anything the South Carolina-native has released to date. Last year, Caribou donned his Daphni hat to release Jiaolong , an album that ended up on more than a few year end lists. The project saw Snaith take on analogue house and techno with a vengeance, infusing strong traditional musicality and funk samples into an oftentimes rigid, dissociative sound. [...]

Los Angeles producer Nosaj Thing recently teamed up with Toro y Moi for the atmospheric "Try," with the latter exclusively providing the hazy vocal work. The track will be featured on Nosaj Thing's upcoming Home LP, which is set for release January 22. Give a listen below.

Los Angeles producer Nosaj Thing gets a little help from Toro Y Moi on his latest track, the ambient crawler "Try". At times hypnotic in its fluidity, the cut combines a low-key, spacey soundscape with Toro's faint, hazy vocals. Tune in below. "Try" is off Nosaj Thing's sophomore album, Home . Another album track, "Eclipse/Blue", is streaming here . Both Home (Innovative Leisure) and Toro Y Moi's new album, Anything In Return (Carpark Records), hit shelves January 22nd.

Toro Y Moi , aka Chaz Bundwick, hits the road later this month for his most expansive tour yet , all in support of his new LP, Anything in Return . In celebration, he's announced a new split single with tourmate Dog Bite, which will be available exclusively as a 73 vinyl at each date and digitally on January 29th. Bundwick's offering is titled "Lyin (Pt. 1-4)" and it shakes with the distortion of a rickety, old tube television. As the title suggests, the four minute track is spread out over a [...]

Tweet Toro Y Moi was at the forefront of early chillwave, a pioneer along with Washed Out and others. So, though his origins are still clear, it's surprising that this track sounds quite unlike the early chillwave we all came to love. Gone is the lazy haze and blurry beach vibe. Instead it's crisp, smooth and precise. Has chillwave changed? Has Toro Y Moi changed? Has my hearing changed? Does anyone care? No, not really. Right, so let's quit the [...]

There's so many details we need to get through here - for one Toro has a new album dropping ( Anything in Return in January 2013) and for two he's got a single dropping exclusively for Black Friday Record Store Day on November 23rd. Anyway here's the single.
Here's the first new track to emerge from Toro Y Moi 's forthcoming Anything in Return LP that's arriving in January via Carpark . "So Many Details" is a spacier, poppier jam, more so than anything on Causers of This or Underneath the Pine and one that hints at a more refined, minimalistic/ "sincere" direction for the new disc. It's also getting commemorated as a 73 for Record Store Day 's Back to Black Friday (November 23), backed by a remix featuring Odd Future's Hodgy Beats . Connect to Toro Y Moi: [...]

Here's "So Many Details", the first track from Toro Y Moi' s upcoming third LP, Anything In Return . Chaz Bundick says the album is his attempt “to make sincere pop music that’s not all processed and bubblegum, " and this track sweats in a sticky R&B sauna wired with a plastique of electronica. Anything in Return is out January 22nd via Carpark Records. "So Many Details" b/w Bundick's own remix of the track featuring [...]
