Keeping the Fela Kuti legacy alive, tUnE-yArDs and Questlove join forces to cover an afro-beat standout, "Lady". This track will be featured on an upcoming charity tribute compilation, Red Hot + FELA , but the single itself can be purchased now . I would go see Tune Yards anytime. While I wish - and Ben would agree - that Merrill Garbus would freestyle and stretch out her songs even more live, she really used every opportunity to show off her vocal chops. It continues to blow my mind how two people (she has a bassist) can create such dense, yet at the same time simple, rhythms. She is soulful, yet gangsta at the same time and her voice is unstoppable.
