With more than 100 bands on eight stages (well, seven if you discount the Kidz stage, which often features songs about barnyard animals), Lollapalooza is expected to be exhausting and overwhelming. The point is to see as many bands as possible, because you paid for a ticket and dammit you're going to make that 3-day wristband worth it. At least, that was my Year 1 strategy. Year 2 was a little more laid back; I even took a night off, missing a few bands I would have liked to see in the name of sleep and sunburn recovery. [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , Spinner Says Samuel Dietz, WireImage It's time for the 2012 edition of Lollapalooza and the schedule, as always, is a pain in the ass. As of now, there are about 30 bands I'd to see, but I can't be in two places at once, I haven't factored in any time for food, I'll need to reapply my SPF 110 at least once or twice out there, and I'm sure I'll [...]

As usual with big fests, the headliners are disappointing. But who cares? The undercard is always where the action is. Here's who's playing, with MP3s where I could find them. Afghan Whigs Alabama Shakes (MP3: I Found You ) Aloe Blacc (MP3: You Make Me Smile ) Amadou & Mariam Ambassadors (Soundcloud: Unconsolable ) Anamanaguchi Animal Kingdom (MP3: Tin Man via Magnet ) At The Drive-In Avicii Band of Skulls (MP3: Sweet [...]

Headliners include Red Hot Chili Peppers , The Black Keys , Jack White and Black Sabbath . The Chicago Tribune's Greg Kot reports that C3 promises the full Sabbath lineup even though guitarist Tony Iommi is recovering from lymphoma and drummer Bill Ward isn't fully [...]

It's finally arrived. The line up for Lollapalooza, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., has been revealed and it's quite good. The Chicago Sun-Times has reported that the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Black Sabbath will headline this year's festival. This will also be the only U.S. appearance for Sabbath this year. Additionally, Jack White, Justice and Avicii will also serve as headliners this year. Also appearing at Lolla will be At the Drive-In, Sigur Rós, Florence and the [...]
