More Tupac news: According to data from allmusic (above), Tupac has released more posthumous albums than he did while alive. To note: this does not include releases on compilations, remixes, singles, etc. These stats, along with his hologram's Coachella performance , are further proof that death is a great career move. Exploitation is not a foreign concept to the Tupac camp. Hitting home, he and Dre really ran with "California Love" - one of many brilliant creations via Dayton, Ohio's own Roger Troutman (Zapp). The warm weather had finally arrived - and with it the outrageous outfits and beautiful women that Coachella is so well known for. Sunday's lineup was easily the most stacked, turning my festival experience into a marathon. I arrived at the festival at 2pm just in time to catch Anton Zaslavski, better known as Zedd, attack the Sahara tent with a barrage of complextro remixes. In fact, most of my day was spent camping the Sahara tent, catching Flux Pavillion & Doctor P, Porter Robinson, Dada Life and Calvin Harris [...]

Tupac Shakur 's surprise appearance at Coachella on Sunday (Apr. 15) has concert promoters calculating such a stunt's profitability — even if it only was a 2D effigy of the murdered rapper. Following news Tuesday that Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg may bring 'Pac's hologram along on an upcoming tour, a mock Coachella poster hit the web, featuring a lineup full of dead legends who could be resurrected on stage using the same technology. Though we take issue with the [...]
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Spinner Says Christopher Polk, Getty Images Short of working some "Jurassic Park" magic and actually resurrecting dead artists, the music industry has a new way to cash in on deceased superstars, thanks to Tupac Shakur 's "performance" at Coachella . Many media outlets and artists thought Tupac Shakur 's virtual resurrection at Coachella on Sunday was pretty much the coolest thing ever. The Los Angeles Times , however, called the stunt "a red herring, unnecessary and ill advised." Whichever side of the fence you're on, the projection of the deceased rapper may not be a onetime deal, given the amount of coverage the event has received. And according to one report, Shakur's comrades Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre [...]

...in the Coachella festival, thanks to some massive hologram productions that virtually recreated Mr. Tupac 3D, who looked dead close to the real thing 15 years ago. Tupac, much to the awe of the festival-goers, shared the stage and performed with Snoop Dog before teleporting back to the realm of the dead in a flash. Advances in visual technology has allowed such holographic projection to be used in live shows. AV Concepts and Digital Domain, the genius minds behind this stunning visual rendition, created the performance with the combinations of a series of some previously recorded live-footages of [...]

So many festivals So many performances So many headliners So many opportunities 2 generate headlines that brand ur festival as a unique experience worth paying +$300 for I heard that 2Pac was still alive in the spirit of a hologram. for 1 nite only I saw him on stage with my own 2 eyes I did not 'marvel' at the digital reunion of a rap crew Instead, I wondered, is 2pac's holographic ressurection the greatest festival meme of all time? Sure, bands [...]

You apparently can't keep a good MC down, something that was glaringly evident after last night's Coachella performance by Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre . The rappers brought their old pal Tupac Shakur back to life via a pricey hologram projection , and, naturally, the Internet had plenty to say about the mind-blowing spectacle. 2Pac knocked out two classics — "Hail Mary" and "2 Of Amerikaz [...]
Tupac Hologram Live At Coachella. We don’t care what you say, this Tupac hologram thing is just as scary as can be. Except maybe the Tims, carpenter jeans, and having to, you know, pull the hologram’s pants up.
As promised, a hologram version of deceased rapper Tupac Shakur joined former Death Row labelmates Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg on stage last night to perform hits like "Come With Me," "Hail Mary" and "Gangsta Party." What would a 2012 version of Tupac wear? Probably Timbs & no shirt. I was watching the stream from home and this performance was crazy . See you this Sunday, hologram Tupac! Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg closed down Coachella 2012 with a sprawling set that spanned throwback G-funk, all-time gangsta classics (thanks to that 2Pac hologram ), stoner anthems (thanks to Wiz Khalifa and a blunt big enough to mellow out a rhinoceros) and new jams (like "The Recipe" with Compton's own Kendrick Lamar ). Eminem and 50 Cent showed up too, probably ranking the performance as the [...]

Wow.. last night was truly epic. They brought out Wiz Khalfia, Eminem, 50 Cent, Warren G, Kendrick Lamar all for there collaborations with each of the artists. [...]

Thank evolution for modern technology, as last night a well-executed hologram of the late Tupac Shakur shared the stage with Death Row mates Snoop Dogg & Dr. Dre. 'Pac ran off a quick version of "Hail Mary" followed by the classic duet with Snoop "Gangster Party"...pretty cool, and damn right they made the 15-yr-old passed rapper still ripped as all hell.
So this happened last night. Technology just bringing Tupac back from the dead and having him perform on stage next to Snoop for thousands at Coachella. Shit was eerie as hell. The thing is, Japan has been ALL OVER this hologram shit for years. Barstool introduced me to the rage months ago - and it looks like it's about to take over the U.S. by storm. Some Minority Report esque nonsense right here. Tweet
