Almost a year has passed since George Lewis Jr. dropped his debut, the Chris Taylor produced, Forget under his Twin Shadow moniker, and it still stands as one of the best new wave, 80s revival records around. This is an interesting watch. It's part of a new video series which gets artists to perform at RAD Studio in Bushwick which is nothing new really. Get a band to perform and record it. The effects on the video though, now that's something to raise an eyebrow at. The effects were adding in real time using an analog video synthesizer from LZX Industries. Now as Stereogum says, there's a video on LZX's website where director Johnny Woods gives a little insight into how it's done and why the results are so frikkin' cool. [...]

Johnny Woods directed a live video for Twin Shadow 's "Tyrant Destroyed" which was processed with a video modular synthesizer. Here's what they came up with at the end.

This moody black, white, and neon Twin Shadow performance comes from a new series featuring bands playing at RAD Studio in Bushwick. I watched the video a couple of times and I can't stop wondering how long it took for George Lewis Jr. to get his hair to look so perfectly still. • Twin Shadow - Tyrant Destroyed

Twin Shadow will soon be hitting the road supporting Florence and the Machine and last night the talented young man hit up the Jimmy Fallon stage and rocked his track, "Castles In The Snow". The track features on Twin Shadow's album, Forget which is a glorious listen and if you go pick it up now on Amazon it's only $5. Bargain. Hat tip to The Audio Perv for the video once again. Check out some more visuals from Brooklyn's Twin Shadow for his track "At My Heels" which features on last years release from him, Forget. The video is for some unexplained reason captioned in an eastern european language of sorts. Which eastern European language is a whole other topic, of which I have literally no knowledge so for now, why not just enjoy the video, captions and all. Check it out above.

George Lewis Jr., aka Twin Shadow, might not be for everyone, but he is one of my favorite new artists of the last couple years. Had the honor to speak with him for a couple minutes at SXSW and he definitely had the aura of a star. Look out for big things from him in the future. Here is the official video for At My Heels . Uhh...here's an interesting video for Twin Shadow's latest single "At My Heels". The video is directed by The Directors, but it's almost like this was done of a macbook pro cam with custom backgrounds. Great tune, but a bit of a silly video for sure.
