The visuals for Bon Iver's "Holocene" are more or less impossible to beat. Straight Icelandic beauty all over the place. This one's not nearly as cool - but sunsets still work in my book. Tweet

The second single from their album Go Fly. We featured Think in Stereo back in July, and personally I think this is the better of the two. "Austin's Boy + Kite has released the second single from its critically praised debut album Go Fly. "Deciphering Static" is another example of the fine boy-girl vocal sharing that has become the band's signature." [Fanatic] Download "Deciphering Static" [...]

From Botany 's debut EP Feeling Today . Botany is Spencer Stephenson, from Weatherford, TX. His Feeling Today EP has just been released on Western Vinyl, and a full length album is expected later this year. "Botany's debut Feeling Today explores the cosmic nexus of shimmering psychedelia, blissed-out pop, and instrumental hip-hop, as he turns recycled sounds into something thoroughly modern. For Spencer there's a therapeutic value in reconfiguring the "noise" of an information-dense consumer culture into something nourishing and honest. He collects artifacts...scavenged bits of ephemera...all of the organic and inorganic matter that [...]

Boy + Kite ("Boy Plus Kite") was formed in 2009 in an an unlikely place - a hot tub. Back then, Boy + Kite 's Darvin Jones and Beth Puorro would often sneak into a spa on the outskirts of Austin to swim and pretend to be members of the bourgeoisie. With a debut album waiting in the wings, and the studio duo now a full-fledged live foursome, Boy + Kite is ready to hit the ground running. "I feel like we have recorded a very solid first album and produced it as well [...]

"Austin, Texas band Moonlight Towers (taking its name from the tall vintage streetlights that illuminate Austin's nights) is a genuine band that does what comes naturally: writing, recording and playing real rock n' roll (with a hearty pop kick!) It's really that simple. "On Day Is The New Night , the band's third long-player, the foursome delivers its finest and richest offering yet. Such superlatives become viscerally tangible the moment the band steamrolls into "Heat Lightning," the disc's aptly named lead track. The timeless potency of two mighty guitars and muscular bass and drums bring [...]
