It seems as though Lana Del Rey and Tyler The Creator may have plans to collaborate at some point in the future. According to a tweet from the Odd Future rapper , the 'Born To Die' starlet has been expressing interest in the pair working together. He said: "Just Found Out Lana Del Ray Wanted To Work With Me. It's not often that rumors off of Twitter warrant a post, but Tyler hinting at a piece of work with Lana Del Rey is too buzzworthy to ignore. In the past 18 or so months, no two new artists have proven themselves as such discussion-starters, for both good and bad reasons. That being said, both artists' appeal is based in their talent. It's hard to deny that Tyler and Lana both have some great pieces of work to their names, and the prospect of a joint piece of work is fascinating. I can't even envision what that would even sound [...]

For better or for worse, UK-based music magazine NME has rolled out its shortlist of nominees for its 2012 NME Awards. Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Adele each earned noms across the various irreverent categories — some more forgiving than others. ( Born This Way and Under the Mistletoe both came in under Worst Album, oof!) Also scoring nods were newcomers Lana Del Rey and Azealia Banks and awards veterans Coldplay, The Throne and Katy Perry. See the full list of 2012 NME Award nominees below. The winners [...]
Back in the day, when two artists didn't like each other, they'd deal with it in relatively low-profile ways: A snippy backstage comment, or a pointed interview comment. Maybe they'd toss in a lyrical jab, the way Lynyrd Skynyrd did toward Neil Young on "Sweet Home Alabama," but that would be just about it. That's all changed. If, say, the Kurt Cobain/Axl Rose VMA-backstage kerfuffle had happened today, the resounding Twitterpocalypse would have the over-capacity whale showing up for three solid days whenever you tried to reload the site. And every time an artist is even vaguely annoyed at something [...]

The remix was not born in 2011, but maybe this was the year it became a real art. Remixes, like Keanu Reeves memes and cat videos, infiltrated the internet like ants at a picnic. Check out Sloane's favorite remixes and let 2012 bring even more offensively awesome dubstep and techno reworkings. In any event, the ten-track spread fairly reflects the guitar/pop/rap/Del Rey year we had. Here we go: Read More...

Compiling our favorite posts from July ended up being more than a daunting task. Since the thought process became a big enough head ache, we seriously considered throwing nearly every song and artist covered for thirty days into a two part mix series. It almost happened, but since we strive to only curate the best listening experience, we narrowed it down to 16 amazing songs for you to carry with you through the weekend. With that said, know that Quit Mumbling is really into this one. Enjoy. Download the full mixtape complete the album art by [...]
