Elliot Wilson, editor for esteemed hip-hop outlets RapRadar and Respect Magazine , managed to harness Tyler, the Creator energy and conduct what might can be considered as his first serious interview. They discuss subjects including writer’s block, goats, first experience meeting Pharrell, his grandmother’s death, his many alter-ego's and naturally WOLF , the latest studio LP. Read our review of WOLF. The post Tyler, [...]

Every since he tweeted "June Eighteen" there has been an excessive thirst for news on Kanye West 's highly-anticipated sixth studio LP. Well, Rolling Stone has managed to snatch up some clues about the album, and I am going to try to connect some of the dots. Here is what we know: He has been in Paris, France since the beginning of the year, staying in the illustrious Hotel Meurice (also known as "The Hotel of Kings," so you know it's real). [...]

Yesterday, we reported that Tyler, the Creator's third Mountain Dew commercial depicting the violent spree of Felicia the Goat was pulled from the web following an outcry that it was "racist." Some hours later, Tyler and the rest of Odd Future's manager, Christian Clancy, took to his Tumblr account to respond to the news. Clancy notes that Tyler "would love to address" this situation "in the right forum as he does have a point of view." He goes on to write that "[Tyler]'s delivery may not be for everyone, but his voice is [...]
In case you didn't get to see this crazy fuckin' thing (it's been taken down in a lot of place) here it is. It's not difficult to see the problems folks had with this spot, but it might help to ... Continue reading

Tyler, The Creator’s success has always depended upon how many or few people take him seriously. Depending on one’s stomach for his shock-and-awe tactics, opinions ranged from favorable to dangerous, but that’s the only thing that mattered in catapulting Tyler to success: that people actually took the time to form an opinion about him at all. Call his raps tasteless or whatever, but he’s the first rapper since pre- Relapse Eminem to smartly exploit our thirst for sensationalism through Hip-Hop. And on his second studio album, Wolf , he creates an interesting paradox: he might [...]
In 2010, I became obsessed with OFWGKTA [Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, for quick reference]. Following the release of Tyler’s Bastard at the end of 2009, a friend sent me a link and I became enamored with the world of Tyler, Earl, Hodgy, Frank Ocean and company. Tyler was one of the first artists I saw rise from underground anonymity to huge success story and subsequently provided me with my first hipster feelings of “HEY, I TOTALLY KNEW ABOUT THAT GUY BEFORE HE WAS FAMOUS”. It’s been over two years since “Yonkers” first blew up, and even [...]
It was only my third gig of 2013, though Young Fathers' rice 'n' pea-powered Shacklewell Arms showing remains one of the finer evenings out of this one thus far. The off-kilt hip hop trio appeared to come of age there and then upon that most oily of stages, and an incontestable highlight came in the surprisingly refined form of a then unknown track as we now know entitled I Heard. You can hear it below, and combining the slow burn balladry en vogue at the moment having been favoured by all and sundry from Tyler, The Creator [...]
Whether it is solo or as part of his Odd Future it seems Tyler, The Creator is unable to sit still for a minute. In the buildup to the recently released 'Wolf' album Tyler dropped a video for "IFHY", continuing his streak of ludicrously brilliant vids. Having just proclaimed (rightfully) to be "dope as fuck" on [...] The post Weekend Videos: Tyler, The Creator - "IFHY" (feat. Pharell) appeared first on Cougar Microbes .
I like everything about this. The old man goofball glee that Letterman gets from saying "Earl Sweatshirt." The Temptations back-up dancing provided by Tyler and Earl during Domo's verse. Tyler's air guitar solo. The St. Louis Cardinal's Starter jacket. Earl's return to become everything rap fans had hoped. Tyler's purposefully corny tucked in shirt and mockery of molly-popping kids in leather. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's also funny how the would-be rap enfant tumblirible has tempered the message to tell kids to go play outside and enjoy the weather. This is the era [...]
Last night, Tyler, The Creator served as the musical guest on the Late Show With David Letterman , and he brought Odd Future compadres Earl Sweatshirt and Domo Genesis with him to do the RZA-channeling Wolf track "Rusty." In an incredibly strange bit of stagecraft, these three guys (minus Domo, who actually seemed pretty into the experience) would stand at the back of the stage when they weren't rapping, snarking on Temptations dance steps or playing air-guitar or standing around uncomfortably. And then, when the song was over, they abruptly stalked offstage before [...]

Thus far, Tyler, the Creator has called on Jimmy Fallon when it comes time to promote a new album. But last night, he headed a few blocks north to the Ed Sullivan Theater for a performance on Late Show with David Letterman . In support of his just released album Wolf , the OFWGKTA figurehead performed "Rusty" alongside Earl Sweatshirt and Domo Genesis. There were many noteworthy moments, from Tyler and Earl's synchronized dance moves to all three rappers exiting stage left to the confusion of Letterman. Though, hearing Dave [...]
In By the Numbers, FADER looks at a big record release and breaks it down in basic digits. This week, we tackle Tyler, the Creator's new album Wolf, out now.

Tyler the Creator released his second full-length album titled “WOLF" today and it’s already topping the charts. The Leader of the infamous LA Hip-hop collective, Odd Future , and co creator of the television show “Loiter squad,” has given us three separate album covers for this album each with a unique and interesting take on Tyler himself. Not only that but Tyler’s seems to have completed this album almost completely on his own, writing, producing and rapping the entire project himself. As stated by Tyler earlier in 2011, the album focuses more on production [...]
