As expected, the mediocre ballad "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" is not the first song from Whitney Houston's highly-anticipated return of an album I Look To You . It was just a teaser track that was probably leaked by the Arista execs to build up some hype around the new album. Whitney has officially stated that an uptempo track done with Swizz Beatz titled "Mill Dollar Bill" will be the official first single. The track was written by none other than Alicia Keys. As I have explained before, for a Mariah Carey album to get push for earlier release is quiet rare. In fact, it has never happened before in the artist's history. When all anticipation was directed at the last quarter of the year for the album to drop. Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel got a very early August 25th date with the single being rushed to radio now. The album finally got a release date from Arista Records officials. It's slated for a September 1, 2009 release. No word on the title yet, but the one that has been floating around is Undefeated . But, wikipedia is now reporting that it will be called The Wait Is Over . The latter is a bit boring. The first single is called "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" and that sounds just like the perseverance ditty that she needs. It's weird that it's also coming out around the same time as Mariah Carey's Memoirs Of An Imperfect [...]

Eminem and UNDFTD team up for a shirt to commemorate the release of Relapse on 5.19. The front of the shirt features “Relapse” in Undftd-typeface across the chest along with the 5 strikes logo and the tracks are listed on the back. Mighty swell. Eminem.com via Hypebeast

  Undefeated hit us up and blessed us with a preview of their spring 2009 line which drops in stores and on the undefeated webstore march 21st. The designs are very clean and simple. Nothing crazy, but as always with Undefeated the quality is there. Check out more pics of the line after the jump.

As much as I love R&B, I feel like sometimes it gets all muddled up in the hype and plateaus for a bit (jackswing? crunk?). It is best when soul and sultry. Shontelle's horribly named debut Shontelligence seems like a promising reformist record with a hint of reggae. Now let's hope all of these are: Ciara's Fantasy Ride (highly unlikely), Lady Love by LeToya (maybe), Pulse by Toni Braxton (she "doesn't have a single hip hop bone" in her body), Love, Tweet by Tweet (if she dumps Missy), Monica's [...]
