Robert Deeble has some significant talent and indie-tastic names to credit with this album. Does that make it any good? Do one legged-ducks swim in a circle?

For evidence of the avidity of Scandinavian music enthusiasts and aficionados in London, endeavour to get down to the gloriously Nordic affair that is Ja Ja Ja . A short and smooth glide down Pentonville Road however is the Scala where on an aptly icy eve a queue splurges out from the door come six. Although winter darkness may have a profound effect on the Norwegian modus vivendi, while it may be dank and drab already, to keep things in context, this is obscenely early. The nearby Kings Cross is still a hive of commuter-centric activity and yet forever [...]

You may feel as though there's already enough love in your heart for all things Scandinavian, but if you can clear the clutter from an atrium here or a ventricle there, you'd be wise to usher in Ane Brun or perhaps more precisely, It All Starts With One. Produced by the inconceivably gifted Tobias Fröberg (responsible for the lavish orchestration that gushes throughout) and backed by a slew of influential artists from that ethereal land that hangs over central Europe, Brun's latest work is a painstakingly crafted, achingly heartbreaking affair, and one [...]

Finally seeing a release after almost a year floating round in cyberspace, the night plane remix of Warpaint's finest moment to-date is simply stunning. A cut and paste vocal looping hypnotically across the stereo spectrum underpinned by enough rhythm to get dancefloors shaking. Certain to accompany several trippy, hands in the air at 2am moments. Warpaint - Undertow (Night Plane Remix) by Night Plane Accompanied here by a lovely image from a series by Kate Shaw .

It's hard to imagine Warpaint as a scrappy new L.A.-based band performing at Little Radio HQ in 2007 on the much-missed GTFU radio program. I had no idea who they were, no one did, except for the fact that their current drummer at the time was the lovely and talented Shannyn Sossamon. Now, the quartet is playing to thousands of people and blowing minds on just about every continent. Watch this incredible live rendition of "Undertow" from this year's Reading Festival.
A year and a half ago, I watched this band play to an audience of dozens at SXSW; last winter, to a few hundred at the Troubadour. Here they are having the time of their lives playing to thousands at the U.K.'s Reading Festival, obliterating the best song of 2010 . Remember when a band you love making it was reason to cheer? This is that. (Via Greg ) Previously : Warpaint archives
The more they play this song the more we love it... check out Warpaint performing "Undertow" from their debut album, The Fool live at Reading Festival.

Strange Negotiations is out now on Barsuk Records As a solo artist, David Bazan moves slow. Not to fault the guy, he has a family to look after, but since his Pedro the Lion slash-and-burn in 2006, Bazan has only released two full lengths. His first, 2009's Curse Your Branches , a searing secular statement against his former faith, took at least three years to write and record. The product was overwhelmingly cohesive. Bazan's message of agnosticism bordering on atheism fueled by depression and alcohol is impossible to miss. [...]

It took me a while to warm to Warpaint but their music just drifts into your head and makes you forget it's raining outside. It helps that the four-piece band have some of the best vocals of any 'new' band in recent memory. Recently, they got videotaped by the wonderful [Read more]
