Before last night, the Portland/New Zealand indie-pop trio Unknown Mortal Orchestra had never shown their faces on American television. But they still looked pretty casual on last night's episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon , chewing gum and keeping their eyes downcast as they ran though " So Good At Being In Trouble ," the oddly funky jam from their recent album II , building to a beautifully shred-happy climax. A hippie cult rescue mission. The post Unknown Mortal Orchestra - "So Good At Being In Trouble" appeared first on Treble: Music news, reviews, interviews and more .

I have sung the praises of Unknown Mortal Orchestra in the past and their follow up to their 2011 self titled LP " II " released this month has got me blabbing again. The whole record start to finish is fantastic. Their single " So Good At Being In Trouble " has become my understated anthem with about fifteen consecutive listens. Yeah, I'm that guy. Their music has a timeless sound that definitely bares influences from the Beatles as well as more psychedelic bands like The Pretty Things, more soothing then sleepy tea. I [...]

Also on tap: Wampire, Foxygen and Gothic Tropic . ► And Ricky Reed and Wallpaper bring [...]
► The Vaccines roar into the Fonda Theatre behind their latest album "The Vaccines Come of Age." San Cisco and Zig Zags support. ► Huge night at the Observatory in Santa Ana — Eels play the venue's big room behind their new album "Wonderful, Glorious," while in the Constellation Room, it's Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Foxygen . ► U.K.-bred indie rockers the Wedding Present visit the Echo, where they celebrate the 25-year anniversary of their first album "George Best" by playing it, along with other favorites. Last month, LA-based Foxygen (made up of Jonathan Rado and Sam France) released a video that doubles as a time machine back to San Francisco circa 1973. The duo spends the track, simply and appropriately titled (you guessed it) "San Francisco," frolicking through Golden Gate Park and emulating The Velvet Underground's Loaded in a pink hotel room. It may be an out-of-towner's rendition of SF, but the Kinks-esque, subdued psychedelic sound and acid-dancing under the trees sure evoke some post-Summer of Love nostalgia. Check out the video below: The psych-pop two-piece released a [...]
What makes the Unknown Mortal Orchestra so enjoyable to listen to is their ability to mix seemingly divergent styles together to arrive at a heady blend of hazy psychedelic-soul music, that's perfect for late-night listens and lazy Sunday mornings. Last Tuesday, the Portland, Oregon-based trio released their sophomore album, simply-titled II , via Jagjaguwar. UMO also dropped the music video for the record's lead single - So Good At Being In Trouble. The clip features Christopher Mintz-Plasse (aka McLovin) trying to rescue his girlfriend [...]

Two weeks ago we posted on Unknown Mortal Orchestra's "breezy" track "So Good At Being in Trouble" from their new album II. Video definitely has a very LA feel to it, with a story of a missing girl, a lover scorned, and hippy lust. Enjoy. Unknown Mortal Orchestra - "So Good At Being [...]
Last time we took note of an Unknown Mortal Orchestra music video, it was because of its kooky Wes Anderson vibe . This time, the video for "So Good at Being in Trouble" involves "McLovin'" wearing pantyhose on his head and smashing things with a baseball bat. Although the Venice Beach-based clip perfectly illustrates the psychedelia of UMO, there was bound to be a crazed heartbroken character in there somewhere with an R&B melody at the heart of the song. Along with Chris Mintz-Plasse of "Superbad," the clip also stars director Ruban Nielson, who is known for [...]

Christopher Mintz-Plasse, aka Superbad 's McLovin', stars in Unknown Mortal Orchestra 's video for their song "So Good at Being in Trouble". Armed with a baseball bat, Mintz-Plasse portrays a flyer distributor who takes out his anger on a slew of Grimes look-a-likes in Venice Beach. Check out the psychedelic clip above. Unknown Mortal Orchestra's latest album II is out now through Jagjaguwar.

To coincide with today’s release of their brand new record II , Unknown Mortal Orchestra is sharing the music video for “So Good At Being In Trouble” starring actor + musician Chris Mintz-Plasse alongside Ruban Nielson. The clip, directed by Danny Perez (known for his extensive work with Animal Collective + Black Dice), provides a perfect visual representation of the song’s warm psychedelia.
Psych rock and pop outfit Unknown Mortal Orchestra shows its soulful side on the track "So Good At Being In Trouble," which has recently gotten some visuals via the music video above. The video is pretty hilarious to me, but I don't feel like I should be laughing. In short, it's about a young dude looking for a missing girl, but it turns out she's joined some kind of weird, polygamist hippie commune. He tries to "rescue her" from her new lifestyle choice, and that's when things get dicey. Unknown Mortal Orchestra's latest album, II , is [...]
