Simian Mobile Disco blear to morphed out geometric shapes and cloudy lights in their new music video for "A Species Out Of Control" . What kicks off as a path less travelled turns into a gurgling pit of laced corners and menacing edges before lazing down to a gooey outro. The jam is lifted from 'Unpatterns' , the wholly underrated 2012 release from the English duo who formed back in 2005. We're expecting to see the guys back in Australia for the Future Music Festival! Steam the album here .
Here's a new video from Simian Mobile Disco . The song, Species Out of Control , is off the electronic duo's recent release Unpatterns .

Simian Mobile Disco - “Your Love Ain’t Fair”

British Electro Tyrants SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO are at it again. After the riotous success of 20092s Temporary Pleasure , James Ford and Jas Shaw have returned with another delectable portion of electronica in their latest long-player, Unpatterns . Along with acts like Digitalism and Justice , SMD pioneered the resurgence of electro in the latter 002s. Through their rich back catalogue of original songs and remixes, SMD have become one of the most sought after groups in their genre. Always innovating and [...]

Watch the new video for Simian Mobile Disco 's song "Your Love Ain't Fair" below, taken from the album "Unpatterns". It has lights. Lots and lots and lots of lights, being turned on and then being turned off again. Seriously. Connect with Simian Mobile Disco – Facebook | Twitter | Last.fm

When James Ford and Jas Shaw of Simian had the brilliant idea to branch off and create their own electronic music duo, the stars were definitely in alignment. Since 2005, Simian Mobile Disco have been cranking out some of the best English electro around; actually, make that just some of the best electro, period. In addition to crafting superb remixes for artists such as Klaxons, Peaches and Florence + The Machine, Simian Mobile Disco are also responsible for some pretty heavy beats of their own, including the songs on 2007’s fantastic debut, Attack Decay Sustain Release. [...]
The English duo are not new to the electronic scene. Producing music since 2007, James Ford and Jas Shaw have been consistently churning out material for turn tables all over the world. A sort of ambient, flowing vibe pervades their newest album, Unpatterns . Analogue production is specked with looped vocals eluding to heartache and loss, resulting in a strangely poignant trend throughout. Yet, true to their name, catchy tracks worthy of late-night dance-offs are blended in, combining nostalgic struggle with a heartfelt attempt to move on. Let's hope they illuminate our local live music establishments sometime soon.

James and Jas of Simian Mobile Disco dropped the Unpatterns LP today on Wichita Recordings . The duo will be conjuring up magic live via subtractive synthesis at Fabric in London this Friday evening to celebrate the release; (tickets and info here ). The publishers have generously and wisely made the entire LP available for free streaming. (And thankfully, they have opted to leave out the frustrating fade ins/outs that are typical of many SoundCloud "previews" these days). If you haven't heard their classic debut LP [...]
Simian Mobile Disco - “Pareidolia”

Simian Mobile Disco - Unpatterns By Kenny McMurtrie Album number four from Simian Mobile Disco and the duo have taken their feet off the pedals and decided to freewheel on this one it seems. Nary a decent hook throughout its length. Instead they’ve leant heavily towards the third word in their name and come up with a set of mid-paced background music which wouldn’t induce you to even tap your feet. So it’ll probably go down a storm live in a tent in a field when you’re off [...]
This album could be classified as a come down after a large night, not something to get to up in arms about.

Simian Mobile Disco have become synonymous with tasteful and top quality production. This hotly anticipated LP lives up to all expectations of the duo. Carefully crafted electronic dance music, the album manages to transgress boundaries between genres at blending contemporary trends and musical maturity. No related posts.

I've always been a Simian Mobile Disco fan. Attack Sustain Decay Release is such a good album that it pains me to say that their follow-up albums are just so... meh. Temporary Pleasure showcased the duo dabbling in the electro-pop-r&b that was part of the zeitgeist of 2009 and then they released Delicacies, which featured a select number of psychedelic dance and minimal techno chunes that were honestly not all bad. Then here we are today, almost two years since Delicacies was released and Simian Mobile Disco puts forth [...]
"Whenever we come back from Japan I say there’s a lot to learn from that culture." British producer/DJ/indie-dance guru James Ford won a coveted Mercury Prize for his production work on Klaxons’ Myths of the Near Future and helped Arctic Monkeys score two number one hits. In between, he and his Simian Mobile Disco partner [...]

Ya sabemos suficiente del nuevo disco de Simian Mobile Disco , Unpatterns , y es por eso que me voy a saltar la introducción. " Your Love Ain't Fair " es el nuevo sencillo del álbum que saldrá el 14 de mayo.
British DJ/producer duo Simian Mobile Disco — James Ford and Jas Shaw — will present their third album, Unpatterns, on May 14. Arriving nearly three years after their acclaimed second full-length, 2009's Temporary Pleasure, which featured notable cameos by Beth Ditto from the Gossip, Gruff Rhys from Neon Neon and Alexis Taylor from Hot Chip, [...]
Simian Mobile Disco released this video for their single "Put Your Hands Together" off their forthcoming album Unpatterns. I for one welcome a new Simian album with open arms and excited ears. No related posts.
The May 14th release of Simian Mobile Disco's "Unpatterns" is approaching and their surreal art, minimal, geometric patterns video for "Put Your Hands Together" courtesy of animator and director Hans Lo of ISO studios is preparing the grounds for their return. Watch and try not to get hypnotized.
