The Planes are an Indie Rock outfit from the south coast of England, and after successfully releasing their first professional EP, ‘On Demand’, back in January, the lads are now keen on furthering their development as a band. Hey, we're The Anecdotes (also known as Matt, Ellis, Jules and Nige). We're a four piece indie/post-punk/emo/pop/shoega ze mash-up. We like bands like PEACE, Foals, The Strokes and Bombay Bicycle Club, so if you like them, there's a chance you could like us. Usually, we spend most of our time in and around the Manchester area, but we're looking to branch out to other parts of the UK. We've been a band for a couple of months now and we've been through drastic changes and horrific moments. I think we're all hoping for a really good year or so after recording [...]

Man, this album has... charm. Charm and pathos. And it has those things in that 'first listen, immediately grabbed' way which so few bands really manage. There are elements of Toad favourites Dolfish and Adam Balbo in here - and if you don't know who those two are you really, really should - but it has its own personality, which I suppose is pretty crucial, given how much this kind of music relies on the awkward likability of the central character. The extent to which that character - our narrator, essentially - is a [...]

Alright, we’re Charm of Achilles, our friends call us COA. We started off last November when we started some half sober jamming at Alex’s house. Songwriting influences were mates, ex-girlfriends and ambitions: the typical threesome of topics that come out after a few southern comforts. This acoustic mucking around turned into a band when we performed a few songs at a fundraising gig we put on for a London to Paris cycle in aid of Macmillan and met a drummer. We started jamming and recorded a live session at a small local studio in derby. Since then, we’ve been gigging [...]

Photo taken by ML Imagery ENQUIRY are noise makers/good buddies and ultimately, a band. We all met at college, studying the same music course and bonded instantly over mutual love for riffage and being quite a raucous lot. Establishing early in 2012 (formerly as The Enquiry), we started touring up & down the UK receiving wonderful responses from live crowds & media moguls, many of our highs include playing alongside bands such as Arcane Roots, White Denim and ALT-J at Liverpool Sound City 2012. After an amazing year of touring, [...]

invade the armada are a band from beautiful Birmingham, the band first started in early 2012 with Giles, Sam and James after meeting at school and wanting to start a band. We met our drummer Louis at a party, he told me he could play the drums and he liked the arctic monkeys so we asked him to join the project. we usually just jam over new ideas until we play something we like and than we make it into a song. Our songs aren't really influenced by much, just whatever crosses our minds when writing these songs. We've been playing many [...]

I know I write about a lot of undiscovered bands on this site, but honestly, how this lot have five albums out and yet are giving them all away for free when they are this good, and this accessible is beyond me. I mean, this is spiky psych-rock, but it's not exactly terrifyingly rough, and the hooks are absolutely clear as day, right in front of your nose, and hummable as fuck. The nature of their website and their label, Flower Power Records , which the band themselves seem to have set up [...]

Hey. My name is Sam and I'm writing to you lot on behalf of my pals: Matt, David and Toby. Together we make up The Watermelons. I’d like to thank you for giving up your time to read this, and to check out our music. I hope it’s time well spent. I’ll keep the formalities short, but give us a shout on twitter or facebook if you like it and want to get to know us a little better. Hope to see you soon. Peace x *** Facebook // Twitter // [...]

My name is J.P. Rose, and I have been writing music since I was thirteen. I love the ocean and the outdoors, and they are an inspiration for many of my songs. While I just released "Nothing To Me But The World" a few weeks ago, I actually wrote it a few years ago after listening to a little to much U2. The song is about how one person can mean everything to you. I have lived in California almost all my life, and while I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I enjoy living in sun-soaked Los [...]

Hi Friends out there in the Universe, my name is Geraint Rhys a bi-lingual singer songwriter from South Wales singing in both Welsh and English. You pronounce the G in my name like you would the G in Garage and the raint part of my name the same you would in the word pint. Good luck with that 1 :) I have been playing my own music live around Wales for a year now and am currently recording my debut album. The year ahead will be busy with three single releases scheduled all with a video to be [...]

My favourite album of the year so far was released February, 16th. It's titled Gravity Works Her Magic and the musical genius behind the record is Kentucky's Tiny Tiny. I think it's safe to say that I've become obsessed with every note of this album, and there's a strong reasoning behind this- Gravity Works Her Magic is a breath of fresh air. It's hypnotic, carries a subtle eeriness, yet is soothing all at the same time. The album's stunning. With my love for the record, you could only imagine how much I anticipated their video. Tiny [...]
Ayah Marar has released the official music video for “Go Hard.” Animated by Duwaine Whitfield, the video sees a cartoonized Marar open a can of Powerpuff Girls-esque whoopass on a series of nonhuman antagonists that stand in her way of getting to a show.
