Formed in early 2011 as a side project for singer/songwriter/multi-instru mentalist Kenny Vasoli, Vacationer is a unique combination of hypnotic electronic beats, soft vocals and serenity-inducing sonic arrangements. Think of it as Beach House meets the Balearic vibe of Washed Out , sprinkled with the playfulness of Body Language . Following the success of his critically acclaimed debut full-length Gone , Vasoli is back with a 6-track remix EP for latest single "Good As New", released via Downtown Records. The EP features reworks by the likes of Data Romance, Silent Rider, Les Professionnels, [...]

Oh wow - Vacationer premiered a stunning new music video earlier today via All Things Go for their track "Farther," off 2012's Gone . We really wish that someone would make affordable glasses that would allow us to see like this whenever we want. Kudos to the video's director Adam Fleck!
Floaty electronic pop band Vacationer just debuted a new music video for their song "Farther," a bobbing and bass-heavy cut from their 2012 record Gone. With footage of mountains, plains and other vistas surreally blending with performance clips from the band's recent tour, it pretty much nails their easygoing, exploratory vibe. Today we're happy to debut the official video for "Farther," a highlight of Vacationer ’s blissful and bewitching 2012 album, Gone . This fan-made montage of concert footage and time-warped technicolor naturescapes is the perfect backdrop for the band's unique brand of easy breezy beautiful tropical pop. “Farther” is like a lucid dream of fifties AM gold hits, lost Disney soundtrack gems and balearica, sewn together, wafting out of a crackling transistor radio on a desert island in the future. Director Adam Fleck does a lovely job of capturing the track’s delicate [...]

All Eyes on MØ Live at Hype Hotel - SXSW 2013 One of my favorites to emerge from SXSW is Copenhagen’s MØ . 24-year-old Karen Marie Ørsted emerged onstage barefoot for the set, delivering a non-stop soulful dance performance over an electronic backdrop. With just a handful of songs floating around on the internet, I am anxious to hear more from MØ soon! More pictures from the set can be here along with some of Vacationer.

Data Romance contributed to Vacationer 's Good As New Remix EP, and now the local indie pop outfit has returned the favor by giving the Vancouver duo's song "Can't Keep Your Mind Off" the same treatment. You can listen to and download the track for free via Spinner .
Filed under: Exclusive , RPM , New Music , New Releases SQE We've heard it a thousand times: An up-and-coming producer remixes an up-and-coming rock band's biggest tune into an unrecognizable club banger. Well, Data Romance wanted to go the opposite route. The Vancouver-based two piece asked Vacationer to give their track "Can't Keep Your Mind Off" a totally new look and feel. The result is a real rock [...]

Graphic by Madeline Rosemurgy ( Source ) We’ve taken a moment to dust ourselves off, catch up on the sleep we missed and nurse our many wounds, but the time has finally come to look back on the legendary time we had at SXSW 2013. Each year, the event seems to get bigger - more people, more bands, more free beer and, mostly, more fun. This year was absolutely no exception, so we decided to not only share our favorite sets and parties with you, we even made a badass playlist (courtesy of Isabella) and collected the best [...]
