I have to give credit where credit's due and give thanks to Sounds of RVA for posting about the new group Vampire Octopus , who released its new album today. And it's a damn good album. Vampire Octopus consists of songbird Lydia Ooghe and master musician Trey Pollard. Rostam Batmanglij is a multi-instrumentalist and the producer for Vampire Weekend. He is recently working on his solo endeavor called ROSTAM. There are some definite VW influences inside of his new music but Batmanglij takes the project to a more dream wave electronic sound. New Hampshire's Tan Vampires is a six-piece rock band that released their first LP last week. It is called For Physical Fitness , and it makes me sleepy.
