It's about that time once again, Suede-heads! Another year has passed and I'm going to share my favourite records of the year that just passed us by. 2008 was a wonderful year and put a halt to the overwhelming mediocrity and crapitude we had been subjected to in recent years. 2009 upped the ante by introducing us to some note-worthy new artists and some brilliant returns to form from a veteran or two. With that said... Never mind the bollocks, here's Billy Suede's best of 2009. Part one! [...]

Picnics, Pimms, plasters and paralytic climes swarm about the initiation of the British festival season like mosquitoes over Latitude's lake. Wychwood is upon us. Camping in the shadow of Cheltenham racecourse's solitary stand, the sun's laser-like rays gleaming off its dubious futuristic architecture, pretence and cares simultaneously fly out of the kaleidoscopic array of tents that litter the innards of the track. And they're quite literally the only litter to be seen. Whilst tent pegs can be found six feet under at Worthy Farm months after Glastonbury has passed through, Wychwood's recycling scheme has caught on. The sheer [...]
Wolfram Alpha is a powerful new search engine - but it doesn't have the answers to all of pop's pressing questions.

OPINION: How Victoria Hesketh went from being everybody's top tip to everybody's punchbag words: Jamie Milton Nobody was ever going to expect the whole population of the world to stop what they were doing and go out and buy Little Boots' debut album. Nor would you expect the vast majority of music fans to fall head over heels in love with 'Hands' the second they first heard it. But a general opinion has emerged that somewhere along the way, she's bottled it, made a record completely dictated by an [...]
Having generated more buzz than a box of Honey Cheerios off the back of, well, about four songs, the 'Boots to fill are no longer quite so little. From platinum tables at the Brits to tonsil tennis with Florence Welch backstage at the NME awards, Victoria Hesketh's gleaming electro-pop (highly reminiscent of a certain gay icon from down-under) looks intent on setting up shop in the British mainstream for the foreseeable future. And if the forecasts are correct, it's going to be raining unicorns and 80s-tinged electro diamonds come Glastonbury. The lid's as well [...]
Here at Heartbreak Tango, we've been waiting for something musically invigorating to signal our return from our brief hiatus. Last night's Little Boots show at Spaceland was that galvanizing event. The first proper show for British pixie Victoria Hesketh was introduced by a former DJ of the now-defunct indie 103.1, the same DJ who premiered "Stuck On Repeat" exactly a year ago. In that time, Little Boots has become an internet meteor, and expectations for Little Boots to become something along this year's Robyn are palpable. With but 6 songs in tow, Hesketh is [...]

F O R W A R D T H I N K E R VOTE: Little Boots - best new act words: Jamie Milton The quest to find the most impressive new act amongst the many heavily-hyped ones put to the test originally, climaxed in that little vote we put to you last week. Not many of you voted but had it been a different story, maybe the gap between Little Boots and her [...]

Disco queen, Victoria Hesketh, better known as Little Boots , is rapidly taking the music scene by storm with her sweet electro beats. She's been labelled the British Kylie and Little Boots' synth-based pop is certainly a Minogue chart contender. Born in Blackpool, Hesketh has quite a colourful music past. She's been a Pop Idol contestant, a former member of dance band Dead Disco and has recently blagged Joe Goddard of Hot Chip as her new musical producer. In fact Joe - who's personal hits include Over and Over and and Ready For [...]

Little Boots! We've all fallen for her over here at Trash Menagerie , and have in fact, been drawing straws over who gets to interview the lovely and talented Victoria Hesketh for a feature we're running on her this month. And trust, its been a difficult thing to pull of, being that all of us are spread across many continents. While we figure out the status of the interview, to hold you over, we have some new tunes to share with you, thanks to our friends at This Is [...]

it was funny how seuty was complaining about repetitive books just when i was listening to little boots ' "stuck on repeat" (yes, on repeat mode). the former singer of dead disco has been tearing up the underground airwaves lately with her white label releases, online mixtape downloads, and a new single released today on pure groove . titled "meddle", it is the fruit of her studio work with hottest chip off the block today joe goddard , which means it must be ready for the floor. my favorite though is still "stuck [...]
