NYC's much hyped and talked about, Lana Del Rey performed her hit song 'Video Games' last night (2/2/2012) on Letterman. She seemed to shake all those SNL jitters from a few weeks ago, and gave the late night crowd something to talk about.

Everyone knows the "cool" thing to do these days is to bash this girl like it's nobody's business. Her debut album Born To Die has been panned by critics near and far (unjustly, in my mind), and she didn't exactly set the right precedent with her sub-par SNL performance. The thing is, she has a ton of talent - and people refuse to accept it. You don't necessarily have to like her music, but I think it's fair to say that you have to accept that she's talented. Before I went to bed I gave you a gif of the LANA DEL REY rolling into the Letterman HQs, now I give you footage from within the studio of the she-singer performing VIDEO GAMES whilst cancelling out that shiteous SNL number. Lana Del Rey remixes are clearly overdone, that's not a question. This isn't a remix though, and as a cover, it deserves your attention. The Young Professionals take Lana's dark, gloomy anthem and inject it with an upbeat pop sound that demands to be heard. Saw this on MTV earlier and it's so bad. Normally, we keep it positive about the musics, but this song and video are ridiculous. Will.i.am is like junk food for music. Think about all the reasons you wouldn't eat junk food then think about this song and how weak sauce it is.
