L.A. RECORD presents the exclusive video premiere of Scion A/V 's tour of Poolside 's home studio in Los Angeles. Watch Filip Nikolic craft a song before our very eyes with toys ranging from a $38 synthesizer to thumb piano to priceless, collectible electronic magic makers. Yes, magic maker is an officially recognized slang term for musical instruments as of now. After taking this virtual tour, L.A. RECORD had some questions of our own... L.A. taylor swift - 22 yet another highlight from her 'red' album, this perfectly fun anthem will no doubt ride the airwaves well into the summer. featuring all her friends having a grand ol time, the land of taylor swift is filled with pretty gal pals (jessica szohr and kesha show up to party!) and gay bestees! something alot of 33's and probably 44's also have these days. http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld
Wow, Kenya Moore is really bringing it with the approach to this single. It's catwalk-ready, full of attitude and now it features one of our favorite queens from RuPaul's Drag Race, Shangela. dragonette - run run run i swear, place one of the canon cameras on any street in NYC and it just looks cool... throw in the gimmick of making everything backwards and you looking like a hot mess and you get into hipster territory. maybe this is a grower, but on 1st listen, not an insta-fave from the usually brilliant dragonette crew. http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld
The video is wonderful and colorful. Kelly Rowland needs to represent and she is trying her best here. Let's hope this video gets the airplay it deserves even if the song is mediocre, but with the potential to grow. Let's hope there are tunes as good as "Ice" on the next album. If you love vintage gear, get ready to drool. Greenpoint, Brooklyn-based DJ/producer Nick Hook gives Scion AV a look inside his studio outfitted with an array of vintage synths including a Dave Smith Prophet-8, Roland Juno 106, Roland SH101 and Sequential Circuits Split-8. Hell, Hook even has a Moog Vogayer. "I like keyboards with knobs," he says in the video. "I like to run things through my keyboards." Hook's amazing collection is rounded out by a host of vintage drum machines such as a Roland TR-808 and TR-909. Rather surprisingly, Hook proudly [...]

If not a spiritual revelation — and we're not here to discuss religion — the debut EP from the Eagle Rock Gospel Singers is a musical one. Boasting five original songs and foot-stompin' fervor, the EP from the northeast L.A. collective abides the great traditions of the gospel blues. The black-and-white video for "What Paul Did," the work of director Brandon Vedder and cinematographer Terrance Stewart, seems almost filmed in another era, when "revival" had a meaning beyond choosing the right bowler at the thrift store and reconstituting emo songs on a banjo. Impressive. [...]

"Everything is an idea. Everything is a plan. That's why I say it's a goal." The Neighbourhood is styling. Not in their fashion sense (shout out to 45 Jordan ), but in their aesthetic. Everything they do is clear. It's clean, stark lines. It's s black and white. It's honest. They were recently in Australia on tour including playing for fans at the Laneway Festival (which in really big news is now coming to the U.S. ) and they documented the whole thing [...]
Chrisette Michele is ready to take on her next project even though Let Freedom Ring, her previous release, wasn't all that up to par with its predecessor. But, if this is the sound to go by, the full length effort should be tasty. Filed under: Beats , Clip , Yankee Panky Tagged: album , Chrisette Michele , new , r&b , single , soul

The new video for Mariah Carey's soundtrack inclusion on Oz has gotten the video treatment and its not so bad for an OST number. Mariah is showing some vulnerability and some ultimate diva gesturing. Also, we saw some tears - no word on whether they were added on or the diva was actually crying. By the end, it looks real. Related articles Mariah Carey's 'Almost Home' Video Premiere - Watch Now! photo by Niklas Alexandersson He might look like a tough guy in the photo above, but 28 year old Swedish singer-songwriter Linus Lutti performs under the disarming moniker Little Children and creates lush, calming pop in the vein of Junip and Nick Drake. The songs on his recently released EP, In Hau , tend to be somber without seeming dull or drawn out, maintain a constant urgency driven primarily by Lutti's vocals, which range from a hushed husky drawl to a bold Bon Iver-esque falsetto. Little Children is currently performing in the U.S., [...]
