Vildhjarta performed two new songs from their upcoming Thousands of Evil EP in Minsk, Russia on 4/23/13 and the League of Extraordinary Djentlemen was there to tape it. The post VILDHJARTA Three New Songs Live appeared first on Metal Injection .
My favorite thing last year was asking friends how they pronounce Vildhjarta. Supposedly, it's vil - har - tuh, but I'm no expert. It's fun to say really fast with an Italian accent, followed by "pass the meatballs." The reason I am going off on this tangent is because the band is gearing up to ... I can't believe how much new music we've been getting this week. It's been hard to keep up. We've been spotlighting some of the bigger releases, but here is a roundup of a few things we missed today... Cradle Of Filth have released a lyric video, because they can no longer be afforded budgets for ... We got a bit excited about a new summer festival trying to establish itself, the Shockwave Festival. It was to feature Fear Factory and Voivod co-headlining with some awesome support acts, Cattle Decapitation, Misery Index, Revocation, Havok, Dirge Within, Last Chance To Reason, Vildhjarta, The Browining and Forged To Flame, but it seems that is no more. A ...
Earlier today we got word that Voivod have dropped off this summer's Shockwave package tour, joining an additional four bands that had already fallen off the bill a couple of weeks ago. Now reader Patrick Haines has sent us the following Facebook exchange with Havok drummer Pete Webber: Assuming Webber's assertion is accurate, well... Fear [...]
Well, I guess the promoters of Mayhem Fest, Summer Slaughter, and every other big summer package tour won't have to worry about having too much competition from Shockwave. The once-promising trek lost four of its initially-announced eleven bands last month, and now it's been dealt an even larger blow: legendary French-Canadian thrash metallers Voivod have pulled [...]

The newest edition to the summer festival circuit, the Shockwave Festival, may have just gotten a little, um, smaller: headliners Fear Factory released revised admat for the tour on their Facebook page which does not feature either Dirge Within or Forged in Flame, and Dirge Within have apparently removed all the trek's dates from their own Facebook page (I'd check but [...]
Last year's edition of Euroblast - the two-day technical metal festival held every fall in Cologne, Germany - was the biggest one yet in the fest's seven-year history, featuring Mnemic, Textures, TesseracT, Vildhjarta, Sybreed, Monuments, Chimp Spanner and more. For the second year in a row MetalSucks is back on board as a sponsor, and Euroblast just [...]

On the whole I like Vildhjarta, but it is way, way too early in their career to say what they're gonna be at this point; by which I mean, there is a not-at-all-terrible chance that they're only part of a passing trend (in this case, djent). In fact, the odds are that they will be considered part of [...]
There's a new touring metal festival on the scene this summer! It's called The Shockwave Festival (honestly, how has no one ever thought to use that name before?), and it'll run for just over a month in the U.S. and Canada this July and August. The "festival" (in quotes because it's one stage and plays [...]
Summer seems ripe for touring, and there will be plenty of it. When it comes to metal tours, we already have Mayhem Festival, Summer Slaughter, Trespass America, and now a Shockwave tour. The tour will feature Fear Factory and Voivod co-headlining, along with Cattle Decapitation, Misery Index, Revocation, Havok, Dirge Within, Last Chance To Reason, ...
Seven-piece Swedish extreme/progressive metal act Vildhjarta followed no agenda over the last four years, thriving instead on local fandom and flourishing (like most often do) under the obsolescence of definitive genre boundaries (even if Posehn's satirical stance about sweaty guys in a recording booth holds true). Signing to Century Media Records gave this band the push to produce what is now a harsh, fantastic concept work. (more...)
Vildhjarta are a Swedish troupe of double vocalled, triple guitared Swedes with a large drumkit and a souped up bass. They sound like a darker, more disjointed Meshuggah with lashings of prog and a sprinkling of deathcore. Their new concept album Måsstaden is a fable about an unknown and isolated village, a moral tale of ...
As the season winds down, this column continues to be shorter (and my workload easier). Just a few new things today, as well as the Devin Townsend Project box set. 2012 is going to have to really impress to match the number of awesome things we’ve seen this year… Abnormal Thought Patterns – Abnormal Thought [...]
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday; there are no religious overtones, it's all about eating lots of good food with good friends and family, there's no celebrating of hedonistic capitalism with endless gift-gifting, it creates a short work-week... pretty much everything about it rules. I doubt that either the Swedes in Vildhjarta or the Brits in [...]
Swedish djent pioneers... Vildhjarta are to release their debut album, Måsstaden on Century Media at the end of the month. We reviewed it. They actually made something called Thall.
