Last night The Walkmen went on The Late Show With David Letterman to perform their latest single, "Heartbreaker" from Heaven , which was released back in May. The Walkmen are fresh off of playing some of their larger shows to date opening up for Florence + the Machine. The guys are still out pushing their seventh LP, "Heaven." It's hard to believe that the guys have been going strong for well over a decade and show no signs of slowing down. I can definitely appreciate their new LP output at every two years on average. I can't think of any good reasons why the Walkmen aren't on TV every week, but when they do show up, I'll take it. Last night, they were on the Late Show With David Letterman , getting all elegantly wry on their great single " Heartbreaker ." And, surprise surprise, they were great. The WALKMEN took to the David Letterman studios to perform HEARTBREAKER and I've just sweated my was on a Barclays Bike back from Soho town. Go. See. This. Band. Live.

"Let's see if these guys can skateboard," quipped the increasingly wacky David Letterman as he introduced The Walkmen to last night's Late Show episode. The band didn't end up busting any ollies, but they did offer yet another flawless performance of "Heartbreaker" from this year's Heaven . Watch the replay below (via The Audio Perv ).

When The Walkmen passed through town last October for a show at the Phoenix, in was in support of their new album Lisbon . They'd obviously performed several tracks from the album although nothing sunk in at the time nor had I ever had a chance to listen to the new album. But the band's performance on Late Night With David Letterman does provide more reason than ever to check the new album out. Last night The Walkmen stopped in at David Letterman and delivered a killer version of Lisbon 's lead track, "Juveniles". Not only did the band nail it, but (much like in December at T5 ) Hamilton Leithauser's voice was seriously in top notch form. No doubt, Lisbon , is a record that takes a while to own you, but if the band keeps putting it on stage like this, it's got a long way to go before it gets worn out.
