BAM! Bet you were expecting a Best of 2011 list, yeah? Well I don't got time for that (YET)! No...this is where I acknowledge all the great stuff I missed in 2010. 'Cause it doesn't get any more rock n roll than to talk about shit that's over a year old. Write that down in your How to Be Rock N Roll notebooks. Anyway, the last time I wrote this list , I spent quite a while talking about how there isn't enough time in one year to listen to all the potentially great releases and put [...]
While we aim to be proactive around these parts when it comes to discovering new music, sometimes bands slip through the cracks even after we've seen other sites gushing about them. This has been the case with The Head And The Heart . The Seattle-based act, who released their self-titled debut earlier this year via Sub Pop, play a lush brand of harmony-laden, acoustic-based indie-pop reminiscent of Blind Pilot. The band made their network television debut last week when they stopped by Conan to perform their catchy single Lost In My Mind... [...]

Wooo. I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything but just wanted to take a quick study break and post a couple songs that I've recently acquired that I'm loving right now. First up is off of Justin Townes Earle's fantastic new album Harlem River Blues . This album is in my constant rotation, and I was really looking forward to catching him live next month, but it seems that he ran into a sticky situation in Indy and has suspended the rest of his tour (more on this here ). But I wish him [...]
