The Walkmen have released two songs this week including " Dance With Your Partner " and " Vermeer '65 ". The songs follow in traditional Walkmen fashion with calculated and tranquil folk melodies that are pleasing to any ear. Hamilton's voice croons in the way he knows best, and the songs do not disappoint. " Vermeer '65 " is a classic Heaven track; " Dance With Your Partner " is a bit more calm and lullaby-esque, but picks up as most Walkmen tracks typically do. The variation [...]

Apparently, The Walkmen were unable to find enough space on their latest excellent LP Heaven . Two new tracks have surfaced titled "Dance With Your Partner" and "Vermeer '653 from said album sessions that did not make the final cut. Both are mellow affairs that are not some toss away tracks that you might expect given they did not get placement on the album. They make you wonder what other kind of unheard goodies might be out there. The limited edition of 1000 73 will be [...]

Known for their expansive recording sessions and globe traversing writing techniques, The Walkmen have never been short on new, diverse material. This year's album Heaven was a masterful number, a lesson in what it means to let go of inhibitions and attack your craft with no preconceived notions of what it needs to be. But it was also mature and introspective in a lot of ways. In talking with the band just after the release of Heaven , that was mostly what they emphasized, that Heaven is a record made without expectations or [...]
The Walkmen have announced the release of a new 7-inch single, featuring the previously unreleased tracks "Dance With Your Partner" and "Vermeer '653. The new single will be limited to 1000 copies and be available Tuesday, November 6th via Fat Possum. Listen to both songs after the jump and check out dates where [...]

At the end of The Walkmen 's video for "Heaven" it showed singer Hamilton Leithauser crossing a road in NYC, and now today, after only 24 hours since their last video for "The Love You Love" , they've dropped another video that continues on from that street-crossing into a full-blown walk around NYC. "Heartbreaker" is from The Walkmen 's latest album Heaven , out now via Fat Possum. [...]

The Walkmen released another new video for The Love You Love from their latest LP, Heaven . The black and white clip was directed by Sean Pecknold and shows a somewhat creepy kid surveying a house filled with cat figurines. Watch below.

We have all heard the saying that with age comes responsibility. I quickly realized that once the four-year party that owns the moniker of college came to an end, a growing stack of accountability followed. Job deadlines, bill payments, and serious relationships promptly became the norm while days dedicated to vicious drinking sessions slowly fell by the wayside. If these immature days do pop up they are followed by a hangover so bad that you actually consider never drinking again. The hangovers continue to get worse and the false promises continue to grow. While nothing that I just depicted comes [...]

The Walkmen released a nostalgia filled clip for the title track of their latest album, Heaven . The video was directed by Alex Southam and features old footage and photographs of the band over the years. Check it out below. Heaven is out now on Fat Possum .

MP3: The Walkmen - Heartbreaker Disclosure: I've never really been a Walkmen fan. In passing, even though I've given their albums each a shot or two over the last decade, something just never really clicked. Even now, not so much. However, I must give credit where it's due, and "Heartbreaker" is a brilliant song, start to finish. Even will the cheesy line "it's not the singer, it's the song", the rest of the song remains unaffected. It's a summertime romp, one meant for the rolled-down windows and loud [...]
Usually videos of a band on tour are kinda boring and once you've seen one you've seen them all, but this one for The Walkmen 's track "Heaven" is a bit different. You see, not only is it a video of them on tour, but it's comprised of pictures of themselves as kids all the way through to the present day, all whilst either on tour or playing live, or doing other band-related activities like posing for pictures and driving around. "Heaven" is taken from The Walkmen [...]

The Walkmen Heaven Fat Possum Records [2012] Fire Note Says: The Walkmen release another stellar album with the graceful Heaven ! Album Review: One could say that The Walkmen have hit their stride but I believe this top end streak started about 4 years ago and has never halted evidenced by the excellent You & Me [2008], Libson [2010] and now the newly released [...]
With the rate at which groups come and go and with the extremely fleeting attention of most fans, it is rare to see an established indie act these days. The Walkmen are one of those groups. Does their newest live up the legacy of their previous work? Read more »

The Walkmen's seventh album, Heaven , is now streaming in its entirety the week before it releases (May 29th). Listen to the full album at the link below. Read more »
When The Walkmen dropped their last album "Lisbon" in 2010 I was pretty excited by the singles they dropped before its release, and then when I listened to the album as a whole it left me underwhelmed, though I seemed to be in the minority on that one. That's cool, though. I just went back to listening to "Bows + Arrows" and "You And Me" . Things are different this time around, however. We've heard four songs from the album in the last few weeks, those being [...]

More new Walkmen . Unfortunately, “The House You Made’ is only a B-side and did not make the final cut for Heaven. It’s a slow burner, that Hamilton’s powers through with his usual tremendous vocals. This family love is becoming quite a nice and mature theme from the band. Heaven will be out May 29th through Fat Possum.

in uscita il 4 Giugno per Fat Possum il settimo album di The Walkmen : primo singolo estratto è la title-track Heaven , qui sotto in streaming insieme alla b-side The House You Made .
Listen to The Walkmen 's new song "The House You Made" below, from their album "Heaven" . It's curious to me that in the space of four weeks we've now heard four new songs from The Walkmen's upcoming album "Heaven". To count, we've heard "We Can't Be Beat" , "Heartbreaker" , and title track "Heaven" . It's curious because it's not often that we get this kind of output in the run-up [...]

The Walkmen 's excellent new full-length Heaven officially drops two weeks from today on Fat Possum . Listen to the yearning, beautifully crescendoing ballad below, and leave your name + your favorite Walkmen song in the comments to [...]
Pictured above, that's Seth "Hunx" Bogart embracing his buddy Kyle "King Tuff" Thomas and Walkmen guitarist Paul Maroon hanging out with his family. They look happy. We are too. Because in just a few weeks, on May 29th, the two bands will release Everybody Taste's two most highly anticipated records of the year: King Tuff's eponymous follow-up to his cult classic debut—the devilishly fun Was Dead— and The Walkmen's attempt to extend their perfect album streak to three with Heaven . Both bands recently dished out extra tasty and promising morsels from their records: Kyle Thomas with the [...]
