"Craft Spells combine shy synthesizers and and jangly guitars to create a sound reminiscent of Joy Division and indie-shoegaze veterans The Radio Dept. 'Still Left With Me' is a touching pop song about love that is born through time and circumstance shrouded in a dream-like atmosphere, making it perfect for a lazy summer afternoon." CMJ Music Marathon is set to take over New York City this year, from Oct. 16 - 20. This is one of my bucket list festivals and though i've never been, I highly recommend it. CMJ may lack the "big names" you find at Coachella and Lollapalooza , but totally makes up for it with shear volume. There are soooo many bands and artists playing, it's actually a bit nerve wrecking, trying to decide which acts [...]

“Vamos ver se esses caras podem andar de Skate”, foi assim, brincando que David Letterman anunciou a apresentação do The Walkmen , ontem no Late Show . E com a elegância já habitual, os rapazes tocaram com perfeição a linda Heartbreaker , faixa de seu último álbum Heaven . Você pode conferir como foi essa ótima performance (e cantar junto) no vídeo abaixo:

"Let's see if these guys can skateboard," quipped the increasingly wacky David Letterman as he introduced The Walkmen to last night's Late Show episode. The band didn't end up busting any ollies, but they did offer yet another flawless performance of "Heartbreaker" from this year's Heaven . Watch the replay below (via The Audio Perv ).

Just yesterday, the Walkmen gave us their video for " The Love You Love ," a song from their excellent Heaven album, and they're already back with another one today. This one's for " Heartbreaker ," and it has Alex Southam directing Walkmen frontman Hamilton Leithauser as he struts around a scratchy black-and-white New York City, looking absolutely badass. Watch it below. Read More...

At the end of The Walkmen 's video for "Heaven" it showed singer Hamilton Leithauser crossing a road in NYC, and now today, after only 24 hours since their last video for "The Love You Love" , they've dropped another video that continues on from that street-crossing into a full-blown walk around NYC. "Heartbreaker" is from The Walkmen 's latest album Heaven , out now via Fat Possum. [...]

The Walkmen just shared another new music video today for the track "Heartbreaker." You can also check out a recording of them covering the Rolling Stones' "Blue Turns to Grey" for Lauren Laverne's BBC Radio 6 Music show HERE . Enjoy!

The Walkmen have delivered Heaven , an album that will probably land on my year-end list. The title track is the current single, but "Heartbreaker" is my personal fave. Check it out below, and be sure to catch them on tour. A little small world note is that my eventual adventures with B3Sci began at a Walkmen SXSW gig in '05. Mike of B3Sci and I were in line next to each other and started chatting. The rest is history. - By Bruce Rave The Walkmen - Heartbreaker [...]

"The beautiful sound of a band completely and utterly at ease with their place within the music world..." The Walkmen | Heaven There was a time when it looked like The Walkmen could well hit the big time. It was 2004 and the band had just played what was probably the most high profile gig of their career to date. It took place under the dazzling lights of The Bait Shop, Josh Shwartz’s fictional club in pop-culture megashow The OC, the band pounding through recent single ‘Little House of Savages’, a song which alongside [...]

When The Walkmen dropped their last album "Lisbon" in 2010 I was pretty excited by the singles they dropped before its release, and then when I listened to the album as a whole it left me underwhelmed, though I seemed to be in the minority on that one. That's cool, though. I just went back to listening to "Bows + Arrows" and "You And Me" . Things are different this time around, however. We've heard four songs from the album in the last few weeks, those being [...]
Listen to The Walkmen 's new song "The House You Made" below, from their album "Heaven" . It's curious to me that in the space of four weeks we've now heard four new songs from The Walkmen's upcoming album "Heaven". To count, we've heard "We Can't Be Beat" , "Heartbreaker" , and title track "Heaven" . It's curious because it's not often that we get this kind of output in the run-up [...]

It seems that a majority of bands are realizing that building up anticipation for an upcoming release is about more than just sending out new tour dates and 30 seconds clips but that fans want to hear full length tracks and as many of them as possible before release day. The Walkmen have taken this same path and so far we've heard 3 tracks off of Heaven . The title track was an upbeat track that grabbed hold on the first note and didn't let go until the final chord while "Heartbreaker" and a definitive throw back [...]

We've already heard quite a few cuts from The Walkmen's upcoming 7th album, Heaven , which is due out in June. And now we have another. Not that we're complaining. 'We Can't Be Beat' is a lovely acoustic lament that builds into a warm-hearted foot-stomper in its closing stages. When describing Heaven , singer Hamilton Leithauser says: "The detachment you can feel throughout our younger records is gone. We felt like it was time to make a bigger, more generous statement." Hurry up June the 4th.
Listen to The Walkmen 's new song "We Can't Be Beat" below, from their new album "Heaven" . At this rate we'll have heard the entire album in soundbites before it's released, but I can't say I'm complaining. Already we've heard the title track "Heaven" and "Heartbreaker" , as well as couple of others having been played live. The Walkmen have released another song from their forthcoming 7th new [...]

I'd been meaning to immerse myself in the Walkmen after their last album Lisbon was released in 2010, but ever since seeing the trailer for their new album Heaven a couple months back I've become absolutely obsessed with this band. Listening to Lisbon on the drive to Santa Barbara last month, something finally clicked and I've since been catching up with the band's previous releases, as well as familiarizing myself with some of their newer songs like "Heaven" and "Heartbreaker." The Walkmen performed both songs on NPR's World Cafe this past Friday, along with three [...]
